Here's page one. I spent way too much time on the city shot, coloring and shading it, for it to end up a small panel. I tried to reuse it on the cover to see some of the smaller details. I also played around with facial expressions a little more and experimented on backgrounds. Particularly, cross-hatching. I also tried to work in lighting as mood.

Another thing I sort of regret doing was the sweater lines. In the inking line stage, I'd go through and have the lines follow down and try to go over the shape of the body. So I'd carefully and deliberately follow the curve lines. This really slowed me down. I should've just put a texture fill over it. Or did faster flatter lines, and let the shading tell the shape.

For the dialogue, I wanted to show that these characters have a history. So it tends to break down, to arguing like when they were kids, near the end. I also tried to sneak in some Christmas/Winter Veil references.

I'd love to hear some feedback on this.
