Portrait of a Lady Werewolf (2h) SICK OF DEMOS YET? :D
This will be my final recorded video for a good week or two, but I still wanted to get it out there, so here we are! The lovely
Zyrena (who is both a fantastic client and friend I'm honored to have) jumped on my last inquiry for some willing victims to practice color/lighting on in a recorded setting, AND she gave me completely free rein (!!) to come up with a new character for the equally fantastic
Defenbaugh, too! My only specs were 'female' and 'werewolf' and beyond that I had the pleasure of going totally wild. Total time of the video recording for this from start to finish is about 2 hours and 15 minutes, I think?

As with the last videos, this is currently a .FLV file, though I'll be likely be getting an MP4 alternate at some point this week. If you don't have any programs that can read FLV format, I highly recommend a very quick little widget/player called VLC (that I use) which you can find for free at the following link I snagged t: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html It works on Mac, Windows, and pretty much any platform you can think of. Post-watching feedback is very much loved! I'm still figuring out how to really do this whole thing, though it's been an adventure I'm keen on more of in the future so long as it benefits people.
Cheers, everyone! Happy Monday!

I do, actually! It's something I talk about in the video proper, but I forgot to put a link here in this video, so the comment will do. I actually use sets from Kyle T. Webster (they're big, beautiful bundles of brush presets that can do amazing things!) pretty much exclusively now; they're paid for but like SUPER affordable considering the amount of brushes/quality/etc you get + forever free pack updates when he adds stuff. The brushes used for this are, I think, all out of his megapack (I think that's 14-15 bucks), and the two I know I used for a good 95% of the piece were called Old Faithful (it's a mixer brush in his "real oils" set near the top of the megapack stack when you load it) and then another one that's a 'normal' brush for finer non-blendy work called Oil Lush.
https://www.kylebrush.com is his site! I can also highly recommend his impasto and watercolor packs if you're really into super badass natural media emulation, though if you're considering getting any of them, the megapack is definitely the best bang for your buck since it covers a way more open breadth of different media brushes.
Oh, and also, since I didn't mention it, the watercolor paper textures I used were from a freeware paper stained pack (packs? I think there may be several) by Hibbary on devart. She's here on FA too under the same name, though I'm not sure if she posted those packs on her FA account as well. Suuuper useful stuff.

Oh sure, of course! If you're on the brush tool, holding the alt/option key is actually a shortcut that'll automatically put you in color picker mode. It's a super great way to help improve your workflow and not have to stop everything you're doing in order to grab a new color. I highly recommend training your off-hand to just hover over it on the keyboard! I think I covered all this stuff in my 'biggest' start to finish demo way more thoroughly if you want to watch ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19071082/ ), though here's a pretty handy list of my own general 'most used' shortcuts for the sake of speed/workflow you may or may not know:
B key = brush tool
E key = eraser
X key = toggle between your two colors on the side bar (I do this while I sketch; instead of switching from brush to eraser for fixing things I just keep white as my secondary color and switch to it on brush to 'erase'. This may or may not work for you, but it personally saves me an extra click and I like that!)
[ BRACKET ] keys = up and downsize your brush or eraser without having to manually tweak the slider/number.
R key = arbitrary canvas rotation! (I think this is CS4 and up)
Command + S key = save-- TRAIN YOURSELF TO DO THIS LIKE EVERY TWO MINUTES you will thank me when PS inevitably crashes mid-work someday.
Command + C and Command + V = (I think, muscle memory is hard to actually quantify) your copy/paste ones respectively, though this is a bit less important than the others, I think.
Hopefully that helps just a little! Sorry if many are repetitious too. Better to put 'em down than not have 'em listed, I figure!

ah thank you so much!
I noticed switching between white and color to erase must be super handy, I never thought of that!
and yeessss omg I'm super bad at saving my work sometimes XD and it blows since my little laptop can barely handle running a 1kx1k canvas ;~;
I'm waiting to get paid this week, then I'm gonna invest in that Kyle T brush back! it looks great <3

Wooo! Another video! Definitely not tired of these yet. I'm just going through them very, very slowly. >_< It seems like I get through 15 minutes of video, and then I get so inspired and excited that I'm like, (Arnold Schwartznegger voice) "WHO'S PUMPED FOR ART?? I'M PUMPED FOR ART!!!!" And then I have to rush off and do a couple hours of art.
