Well, it's pretty much Pokémon without any humans involved and with a traditional RPG-tactics battle system. Randomly generated "Mystery Dungeons" and a greater empathsis on longevity rather than brute force. It's a bit cutesy and campy, but it's aimed for the younger generation, so I guess it's excusable.
Oh, and the Pokémon can talk. All of them! ...Except Wobbuffet, he just does his thing. XD
