First off, in case you get to this before I can do it, I'm going to reupload this in hopes that it will override the resize. If this fails, I'll just have to upload a copy to Photobucket or something. Why am I doing that, you ask? Because this thing is freaking huge! I decided that instead of submitting things a page at a time, that I would go the full nine yards and submit the entire thing as one massive comic. I just hope it doesn't kill your monitors... XD

The comic explains itself, so I'll be going straight into descriptiveness from here out....
Second of all, I want to first apologize for not getting this thing out sooner. Everybody has been really cool so far about getting their stuff to me on time, so I feel bad for not being able to live up to the same expectation. But I had a lot of issues in getting it done... from the sudden return to school to competition running stress to god knows what else. Though I think one major reason it was later was because of my desire to include all of the players in the comic... this meant waiting until all or most of them were already in. Then I had to go back and redo some parts because people that I had previously confirmed ended up dropping out or changing their character. Then of course my computer crashed on me and I was left without access to a scanner... Joy... but its finally done and here it is posted, so... Yaaaay!!
Then the last thing of note being to inform you all not to worry if anything in your stories conflicts with the intro comic. This is perfectly fine. Besides, I didn't get this thing posted until a week and a half after the start of the contest, so I couldn't very well have expected you to follow it anyways. XP So, no worries there.
I tried to include everyone's character at least once in the comic, and if that one appearance was of their backs, then I made sure to give them a face-shot in the "Reaction Panel." I hope I drew everyone relatively decently, some of the ones I only had descriptions for may not have turned out so well. And if you're not wearing clothes, but you're supposed to be, then its because I didn't have the references for them on hand... ^.^;
Panel 1, a Ship arrives, fighters disembark.
I thought I actually did a good job on this, considering I suck at drawing large objects and backgrounds... XD
Panel 2, Appearances by Kyouti and Jag.
Panel 3, Strikers on high... Sefra is the one with the binoculars and I meant for the previous panel to be what he was seeing through them just prior to his commentary. The second robe conceals Alex.

The little thingies are supposed to be video monitors popping up in mid-air. There are probably better references, but I was thinking of Washu from Tenchi Muyo and all her nifty tech gadgets when I starting making them.

Panel 10, An unusual lot.
This "page" was meant entirely to showcase various competitors, all paying close or not so close attention to the screens. I tried to mix in various factors of "people looking cool" and little bits of humor.
My apologies to Stank... XD my double apologies to Tsumi and Leshana for making them stand next to him... X3
Oh yeah, and Stank would be wearing clothes like in his profile, but when I was printing something for his reference I didn't think to include the part where he was wearing them... and was too lazy to go back and change it later. ^.^;;;

This panel was a bitch, cause its one of the ones I had done early and then Shadowstalker switched the roles of his main and support characters, but I had already sketched his gun-toting roo there... >.<;; So I had to try and figure an alternative that still fit the description Sefra was making... a few people fit, but none of them used guns and... well... I didn't want to replace it because it looked so damn good ^.^;; So.... whoops! Support Character! Deal with it! XD

Another panel I had to change a lot... mostly in dialogue. It was originally going to say "Gods, angels, and everything in between" but when Fenrir dropped out I had to find an alternative. Luckily Holmgren's character fit the bill... (He was way harder to draw right though)

Good lord what a mess... XD Though really the only thing I'm super disappointed with is the lobster, Homard... that was a challenge I was clearly not ready for. And I hope Mage being shaken is obvious enough... I know the effect is harder to make out thanks to the small size of things. And Eldraciel is quoting from the Venture Brothers because I thought the line fit somehow. XP

Need to fill a bunch of empty space? No problem! Giant ass text bubble to the rescue!! (And I actually almost didn't fit everything in... <.<;; I just barely squeezed it all in there)

I had meant for everyone to be yelling "What?!" but I quickly realized I hadn't left myself enough room in between the tiny panels for any extra text, so I decided to just left you all figure out their individual reactions.

Aqua may be awkward because I suck at drawing feral dragons and I wasn't sure just how big he should really be, but I thought it would be funny to show him towering over the smaller Aren.

I hope Ritter looks okay, I had very little to go by on him, so I pretty much just winged it.

Yes, I was too lazy to actually draw in Spencer and Verace's faces... >.<; I was tired!! But then also I didn't see any reason to draw them looking all serious again either, since they probably won't be quite so often after this. XP Though on the mini-screens, I had intended for the faces not to be visible, so that one was actually an artistic choice rather than laziness.

Well now I'm going to have to add a little to the opening of my story, but that was to be expected. By the way amazing job there Seph. I wasn't expecting Homard to look good due to his strangness, actually I wasn't half expecting him to not even appear. Sir Not-appearing-in-this-comic-for-he-is-too-hard-to-draw. Eldraciel's a little small for a fifteenfoot monster but that's jist nitpicking. I love how you drew him in the suit. Venture Brother's quote was a nice touch as well.
well, given what you'd told me I guess I figured Eldraciel could size-shift... especially if he had to fit into that outfit XD (wish they would've let me post the bigger version, since you can make out the details a little better in that one) But anyways, "Yays!" XD glad you like it all.

Well, as Sparky has stated, he isn't much of a fighter (hence why I labeled him a "novice" )
aaaand, for Spencer I wanted him to look a little grumpy sort of, because my theory (as I'll probably show in another comic later)is that he wouldn't really like having to wear the robe thingie.... or maybe he's just not paying attention XD

Also: I SO totally built a ramshackle ship in an attempt to flee the island, got a few nautical miles off-shore before forgetting I have no prior experience in either ship-building or sailing, turned around to sail back, crashed on the rocks near the shore, bumped my head, got amnesia, and then the rest of my opening comic.
Yeah, that's perfectly plausible enough...

Wow. this is nifty indeed! I must appologize for my discription being so short and such, but I wasn't in a writing mood at the time, and my mind was mostly blank... but you did amazing on Ovourn, his smirk is more like one his brother would make, but I like it, he looks so cute in your style. I now have a better idea of how to make my entry. very nice work on this, it must have taken a while. ^^
Well, this is a relatively epic intro. What's really great is that I did my Round One comic so that it fit this juuuuust fine. Y'know how I was able to accomplish that?

As you know I turned down the option to send a character into this meat grinder. I still have some questions, though.
- How do you decide who wins a particular bout? It seems this could turn into a huge pissing contest as people argue about who wins.
- What's the prize? All these preds aren't going to risk death for nothing.

1) Well, each contestant submits their own entry in which their own character wins the battle. Then I have a small group of Judges that look at everything in the end and decides which is the better of the two submissions for each battle. The chosen winner of that round moves on to the next and the cycle repeats.
2) In-Character or Out-of-Character? XD
In-Character I think there is a cash prize for winning or something... but I forget at the moment because no one has seemed too concerned about that.
Out-of-Character I set forth the rule that anyone who chose to enter the contest would also be committing themselves to draw (or write) a piece of art for whoever the winner turns out to be. That way the more people that joined, the bigger the prize would be for the winner at the end. So, presently we wound up with 32 players, which means 32 piece of art as the winners reward(I'll be taking up the winners spot so that he/she doesn't have to draw something for themself).
