A piece done by the delightfully skilled
Solar-Paragon of my original character, Aylaria - who continues to be the dearest to my heart of the short list of my original characters.

Aylaria the verdant dragoness. Known to her friends as Ayla, it shows how open and welcoming she is in the simple fact that she regards every individual she meets as a friend until they themself prove otherwise to her - and she makes her own decisions on the matter. This dragoness... she's a story teller by heart. She's lived the life of a dragoness of the world - she's traveled and seen sights, met people and splendors alike that would take countless ages to recount in full. Any who talk to her know quite well... she is more than a little outspoken. But that is only half as much as half of that is that she loves to listen - to stories that have meaning, to tales of import, wherever import may lie with her guest of the eve'.
Teasing, tempting, even at times seductive - Ayla is unpredictable. She's open with herself, and her surroundings - she'll shift her way to match, before she'd ask others to do the same for her - but she's equally immobile. She'd leave before changing herself, set herself aside from unwelcome, rather than embracing it with a faux smile. Indeed - her take on it is to smile, wide and true, and enjoy life with the bubble of cheer she can bring! In such, she often tries perhaps a bit too hard to help bring that smile to others, when smiling is the farthest thing on the horizon...
As a dragon, she is strong. But, the most intriguing thing is that, she would walk before running. In the same way, she travels the roads - paw before wing, there are few who can say they've truly seen her fly. But when she can... she's beautiful. The sky is her home, away from home - she enjoys mountains, and seeing what can be seen from the tallest places, o'er the crags and into the trees... though that's not to say she doesn't like exploring every other place, between the highest cloud and the lowest canyon!
Like many dragons, she has her own ways of defending herself - but, she has a rather high respect for life. She's first understanding and second diplomatic, rather than hasty to draw fang or claw against another - and even then, she's more than just a little empathetic. Harm isn't something she can agree with, though it's an understood fact of life that pain happens, she's not one to spread it. Anger doesn't come easy to her - well, not in most cases. In her eyes, freedom of will and choice are some of the most important things a person can have in life. To disregard and disrespect that... well, there are few times when she puts her whole strength into her voice, and in talking there she can speak the longest.
Some say she could talk down a glacier, had the glacier the time to sit and stand around...
Ah, Ayla... I think, many of you who watch me know her personally, in some way. This dragoness... she's a pure extension of... who I wish i could be. Strong, wise, understanding and open to every idea... a tinge of draconic in there, because goodness knows i can't get enough dragons... I understand, though, she's quite hard to get a grasp on, for most other folk. It's... I think, too much, to put myself in her shoes - mayhap, because such characters like her, with a pure heart, aren't readily accepted at face value? Certainly, she has her own secrets, her own fears, qualms, and weaknesses. No one is perfect.... Ah, anyways. I'm rambling.
For a while, I've been considering getting myself a better reference for this dragon who many years of storytelling brought to life. I gave in around Christmas, when I started working with my mate to get her a proper OC design for her Elebris, hehe. I think, most of my friends agree, though, she's not nearly as much fun as the seductive Hawk gryphon... ^.=.~

As I'm sure Ayla would say, even the big ones with spikes and fire can be cute, in their own way. It depends on how they are and hold themselves! Hehe, or rather to say - I'm quite with you! Msot any dragon can be cute or delightful,, though I might extend that to just about any critter, by the same token! ^^
Do take heed, lest you be lost to the ravages of time - bitterness and greed are not the sole children of that beast called knowledge.
Rhyme and reason need not rise and bite – hope is a thing that all can have, even the greatest of minds, or the least – should they but grab it. IF bitter is all you search for, it is all you find – and there is bitter in the world, but it is never alone. Joy, and smile – care and wonder are all there, in kind. It is how you look, and where your search takes you, that defines what comes.
We are all different – I shan’t call you wrong, but do remember… Neither am I. Hrm?

Words can ever have such a seductive flow to them, that begs a want and a want to become a need...
Mmh, hehe, you're not far wrong, there - she can be quite intense, in her own ways! It's just ever so easy to forget she's a dragon, at least, until one looks at her, and she has a similar fire flowing through her veins.

Ah, thank you so much for the compliments - I must say, I am fond of characters like her, too! They're rare, but out there. Speaking, though, of her magical inability - it's not due to a lack of knowledge. She's actually studied magic in an attempt to find a school that she can cast, to no avail. More, it's a biological inability (due to complex, complicated things involving the things that surrounded her egg being laid) that prevents any magic at all from touching her. Whether casting, or being cast at - it just... doesn't work. Depending on the spell, this means different things! Thanks to her studies, though, she knows a lot about magical theory, and has helped full-fledged magi learn how to hone their abilities. It would be quite another challenge to fix that infirmity of hers without magic!
From how you described it, I figured as much. But the thing is, my character who sees this inability as a challenge is my one character who knows the most about magic out of every single character in my head. Would you mind humoring me in a small RP where Ruth, my character, at least meets her?
I'm not quite intent on RPing, at least at the moment!
Anyways, I'm not super big on the whole competition thing. Ayla's lack of magic is rather a big part of her character and (should it be changed), would only be done so after long thought and contemplation, after a good bit of terribly long story. (Not to mention, the dragon herself knows little about the disability, so she'd be of no help!). Thanks for the offer, though!

It's not competition, it'd just be Ruth most likely chatting with her, but I respect your lack of want for it. From what I've managed to gather about her (from what you've typed about her), a conversation between Ruth and Ayla would either end in them just being friends, chatting about magic for a while, or them being friends and Ruth giving her an amulet or charm that would allow her to use either a spell or two or just weak minor spells that do little more than make life a wee bit more convenient.
To be honest, They'd probably quite end up friends (although the amulet, again, wouldn't work with Ayla. She actually has an amulet that does work, for again complex reasons, but the gist of the problem is incompatible energy types in addition to a biological block in addition to the amulet's own internal spells). But, I think she'd always be happy to listen to new ideas! I think in this case, though, it may end up being a back and forth "But this should work!" "But it doesn't work" between us, as many interactions with her have gone, and that's never much fun.
Anyways! Either way I don't quite have time for that right now - but again, it's an interesting thought. Thanks for your interest! It's always fun to talk about my characters ^ v ^

Ayla is, surprisingly, rather easy to get along with, so long as one is respectful. She's been none to talk to people all across the spectrum, from demons to angels to exotic aliens and planar beasts with little issue. I think, really, the biggest challenge for those talking to the green dragon here would be her draconic pride, though even then in her it's well maintained. All in all: it's hard to really say without more information! In her mind, she won't judge a person (dragon or not!) byu anything other than the way they present and deal with her, however that might be.
My character Omega would get along great with her. As a alien traveler who has his own stories to tell in as well as contacts to make, He is more often than not inclined to curiosity which while many a time has gotten him into trouble has also made him very learned and therefore influenced his renown for his knowledge.
