Skully sighed as he took a seat on the couch, holding a tape tightly in his hands, looking down. He waited impatiently for someone to arrive, obviously distressed just by the look in his eyes; tears in the corners of his eyes and face muscles tight.
“Skully, I came as quick as I could. What is it?” SCP-049 asked, closing the door behind him and noticing the man’s look and the tape in his hand. “What’s wrong?”
“You damn well!” Skully said, throwing the tape at him. “You lied to me!” he said angrily, the tears not yet falling since the anger had come first from feeling hurt. “You told me you didn’t know how to explain what the disease was! You told someone you didn’t even know in an interview back in containment! And in case you’re wondering, my contact told me I should see it…”
“Skully…” 049 said softly, bending over to grab the tape. “I didn’t want to scare you away…” he said, slowly stepping towards him, but stopping when he noticed the man moving away from him. “Please, just give me a chance to talk to you…”
“Start talking, then!” Skully said, tears starting to run down his face. “I want to hear your reason on why you lied to me! I want to know everything! EVERYTHING!” he yelled, standing against the wall. “Everything or I don’t ever want to see you again…”
The plague doctor gave an audible sigh as he took a seat on the other chair, facing Skully’s direction, but looking down. “Okay, I’m sorry… I should have told you from the beginning that the Great Pestilence is just my term for human mortality…” he stated, looking back up a little. “I just figured if I told you that, you would be even more frightened than before…” he said, his trench coat starting to become wispy. “And I’m not a plague doctor… True, I can cure any ailment and treat any condition, but this is merely the form I choose to show everyone, as you now know.” he stated, his hood piece extending and the bottom of his trench coat forming curly pieces that bent away from the floor. “Skully, I’m…” he stated, standing up as a scythe formed in his hands. “I’m Death.” he said, noticing how Skully look confused. “There are many grim reapers, Skully; more than you will ever meet.” he explained, holding his hand out. “Please… I meant what I said… That I would never hurt you…” he stated, whispering “Please…” softly once more.
Skully slowly moved towards the reaper, soon throwing himself at the robed figure and clutching him tightly. “You should’ve just told me…” he said in a soft whisper, crying uncontrollably.
“I know…” 049 replied, the rest of his form staying pretty much the same, but his gloves dug into the man’s back and sides as he hugged him back tightly. “Will you forgive me? I would do anything for you… If there’s anything I can do…”
“Just don’t lie to me anymore…” Skully said softly, looking up at the creature as he forced a smile. “You can trust me, 049…”
“I think I prefer the name ‘Doc’, Skully…” SCP-049 replied, his mask twisting to show a slight smile on his face. “I’ve grown accustomed to being called that by you.” he continued, the beak portion opening up slightly as he oushed his mask/face against Skully’s and kissed him softly.
The male was surprised to feel what he felt; it was the first kiss with… well, death. He could feel an immense power surging through him. It was dark, cold, and it made him shudder, but it didn’t harm him. The kiss was held for a long period of time, which he didn’t quite mind, but when the reaper pulled away, he found himself calmer. “Doc…”
“I love you, Skully… I mean it when I say that, too.” Doc replied, though his face went back to a serious one. “But I ask that we keep a doctor-patient confidentiality… I’m not ready for everyone to know that I’m a reaper… Just like you’re not ready for everyone to know who you really are.”
“Wh-what?” Skully asked, confused.
“You’ll see in due time, Skully… And I promise I’ll be there to protect you.” Doc replied, dismissing the subject for the time being. “And… How about we destroy this tape, hmm?”
“I…” Skully said, quickly grabbing the tape. “I should keep it…”
“Why? You have already seen it; there’s nothing left on it that you don’t know… If anything, it could compromise you or me.” 049 replied, holding out his hand. “Please, let me have the tape.”
“Doc… I…” Skully said, looking down as he handed the tape to him. “Okay… Sometimes, you’re not around and I just like to hear your voice… I miss you a lot, you know?”
The reaper suddenly felt bad about it, but he still put the tape into his trench coat-robe. “If you would like my presence more often, you only need to ask… And I’ll make something for you so you can hear me when I’m not there, okay? Do we have a deal?”
“Deal.” Skully replied, kissing the plague doctor mask. “And… I love you, too.” he said, watching the reaper step back and begin slipping off his gloves to show grey arms that ended in three-fingered hands with black claws. He bent down to slip his boots off, showing grey legs that ended in four-toed feet with black claws like his fingers.
“My dear boy, I hope I do not scare you away, but… I wish for you to see me as me.” Doc said, tossing his gloves and boots onto the couch. He began undoing the upper piece above the trench coat, but snapped it off of the hood, leaving that on. As he took that off, his grey skin on his neck showed. Then, the medical belt came off, which he gently placed onto his other clothing. As he went to undo his trench coat, he slowly unbuttoned it, seeming more like it was a strip tease, but in all honesty, it was that he was nervous. As he slipped it off and allowed it to fall to the floor, only the hood and mask remained on, but his body was a dark grey all over and he didn’t appear to have external genitals; it was all internal. His rump was more like a humans as well and his mask gained a bit of a light, red tint. “How am I so far?”
“Wow…” Skully said, stepping closer. “What… What about the mask and the hood? Do those actually come off?”
“The mask is my actual face; I mostly speak to you with telepathy, but it is my real mouth. The hood stays on; that is not debatable.” 049 replied, his almost entirely naked body stepping closer to the man. “I have never shown this much of myself to anybody before… And it is… nice… to know it’s not rejected.” he said, pushing his body up against the man. “But I have never used it for… reproductive purposes… But I shall, if you want.”
“I…” Skully started to say, blushing hard. “Well, just whenever you feel like it… But yeah, at least every now and again would nice, Doc…” he said, gasping when he was kissed again, that same feeling flowing through him, though this time he felt very dizzy, very fast. He quickly found himself passing out, falling limp in the reaper’s hands.
049 smirked a bit, beginning to walk with Skully in his hands. “I’ll set something up for us… You sleep for now and I’ll wake you up when I’m ready, dear boy.” he said, giving a dark chuckle, though his intentions were still good. “You can hear me, but yet you’re asleep… And I know you’re scared, but I shall not turn you into a zombie; don’t worry about anything sinister like that… I told you I wouldn’t hurt you.”
