Was meant to compete with Carroll Shelby's Cobra using Chevy power. It did compete well with a reported better straight line speed than the Cobra. But it suffered many issues as well, mainly overheating of the engine as well as the driver. In '65 with rule changes and the fact that purpose built races were changing eventually led to the end of the Cheetah.
