blitzdrachin (aka @Sifyro) (who has drawn for me before) took part in the Helpful Macro project with this brilliant Zootopia tribute/remake scene featuring Rooth'roo re-enacitng (spoiler) Judy Hopp's epic save, except this time it's foxgamer01 that he's saving!

I'm really delighted that Sifryo was able to recreate this scene and give it a new and interesting angle, with excellent atmosphere and perspective, and the texture and shading on everything captures that Zootopia look really well! foxgamer01 there won a YCH that blitzdrachin created for the cameo spot, and I like how his colors work with the rest of the scene.

Rooth'roo, for all his clumsiness and troublemaking, usually has the best of intentions. And once in a while he can perform miraculous acts of true heroism without actually screwing up. :) This must have been one of those times. Probably hopped right over in one bound and caught the donut just in time. That's his story, anyway. He probably had something to do with it breaking loose in this alternate universe Zootopia. ;)

The Helpful Macro project is, in a way, a tribute to Zootopia, but also a way to inspire fans, artists, and commissioners alike to envision worlds where sentient beings of radically varying sizes not only coexist, but cooperate. Macro works may often involve crushing/eating/destroying, and while that's great fun for many a macro fan, there's much more to be found in the theme than that.

This project aims to put the spotlight on alternate aspects of macro, because that is what I find most fascinating about macro art -- it inspires people to contemplate alternate perspectives beyond their own, not just artistically, but philosophically as well. That's something we all would do well to practice more often.

To celebrate the spirit of this project and the overlap with Zootopia's themes, I will be posting at least one completed commission from this project per day leading up to Zootopia's release on March 4th 2016. Keep your eyes open, and look out: macros about!

Most of my macro submissions have been friendly, non-destructive, and often helpful. I invite you to browse them, discover new artists to follow, and perhaps even commission them for some helpful macro ideas of your own. :)
