Olimpia (ETA Hoffman's 'The Sandman') was the first man made human Automaton. She started out as a simple machine. Nothing more then a wind-up doll, a mannequin. However, over her century long life she changed. She became self sustaining, without the need to be wound up regularly. She started developing human thoughts and feelings, becoming more and more complex with age. She developed a critical view of the world around her. Being surrounded by the dregs of society, she knew true suffering. She even found love in her life. Real love.
