My response to the Thursday Prompt from 25/Feb/2016 entitled "Anarchy". This is the fourth installment of my continuing storyline featuring Foxglove Fairmont from Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers.
I'm actually grateful that I didn't have this story completed before the Prompt was announced. I would never have had the theme of Anarchy in the original storyline and this series would have been branched off as a stand-alone. But luckily this piece was a bit longer and took more time to put together, and since Foxglove works as a late-night radio talkshow host, I was able to work in the theme without it sounding forced or added on. Wooo!
Now, our story thus far: Foxglove has come into her final broadcast of the week full of questions as the mystery grows even deeper around her. But luckily a friend has some of the answers she is looking for and helps her avoid a seemingly impossible search. On the downside, she is given some news that is rather disappointing and will certainly make her adventure harder to carry out. But what fun is a mystery and adventure if everything is easy?
But things only get harder for poor Foxglove, as she is torn between two friends who she cares deeply about. A love triangle in the works? Quite possibly. There are also feelings of being overwhelmed and uncertain about her own capabilities, especially after she receives another chilling phone call right before she is set to go on the air.
A very long and whirlwind of an installment, but we get a lot of both mystery being solved and new mystery being introduced. Especially at the end, where we, the readers, are shown that what Foxglove thinks is happening may not essentially be what it is set up to be. (I love cliffhangers and twists! :D)
As always, I am right back to the keyboard after this installment, working on Foxglove Five in order to keep this series flowing and have a new story posted every week. So we shall see what other surprises await our favourite Chiropteran as the story continues!
Just a quick note... because I can't draw, the image I used is copywritten to Disney and was a screenshot I found on a screenshot website and edited. As well, the character of Foxglove herself is a Disney creation and I am using her in my own creation because face it, she's adorable and deserves to be showered with more attention!
Anyhow, I hope you enjoy and until next time!
