Paranova Pocket – Pilot Prologue: ‘Salut avec la liberté’
“It was then that this world and the actual reality vs. our biological, individual reality towards the outer world we reside in and the inner reality that we perceive in our consciousness and subconscious side, had always been and merged in elements with the technology that changes the way we live, for better, worse, and for the way that has gone awry in management and survival.”
~Arciel, the VI th, 2004 A.D. (MMIV C.E.) (A bleak future in a new form of fiction like never before)
New network system types have been established and invented to more than just the reliance of the Internet, but into a another infrastructure of its own as well. This new network has the ability to easily allow creation and recreation of subsystems that work much like its own and the Internet itself, and also helps the inception of prototype and finalized virtual worlds that are more compatibly programmed to operate both more openly and ideally, including the use of technological objects and components built into other items of the real world, programmed and connected to this 2nd Infrastructure known as the Cyberial System, or the Cyberianet. It is not a successor to the Internet, much like the Arpanet as a predecessor to the net itself, but rather, a separate yet interconnectable system when in dire need. The objects involved with the Cyberianet in conjunction to the virtual world correspondence functions, can be moved, levitated, and ultimately controlled by the users who operate it from a computer system or otherwise primary device that has an operating system to use, and is in better control when delved into its virtual world network under the Cyberianet (not the Internet) as an intermediate space world mirrored from the real world on a location-wise basis thanks to the immersion of a visual and mapping. Nonetheless, this theorizes the philosophy of the Internet and Cyberianet as two virtual parallel superworlds between eachother, in the ability to truly create virtual paralell worlds within Cyberia. Currently, many network units have been made, but also opened doors to new crimes.
City of Sether – 2040 A.D (MMXL C.E.)
The city brimmed with acid rain and dark muted green clouds in the night sky, illuminated under the misty green horizon from a fierce distance, as the dystopian massive architectures glow in unison and diversion from their city lights, office window lights, designs, and more objects lit. Passing, slick cars drive by in the neon-glowing, solar-panelled roads and many people walk and pass by eachother, each with their own purposes, in a place so populated, but mentally isolated to each driven life by the business in a place full of density, fallacy, diversity, content, cynicism, and variability. Other districts are around in less populated areas towards complexes and areas with some trees and plants that are outside of the main city and its outskirts, much like any modern town, glittered by the hued rain and the street lights that provide the calm yet strangely gloomy atmosphere. Apartment lights and smaller-lit units also complete the setting, and towards an obscure corner of the district lies the home of an aspiring skilled detective that investigates on cybercrime, suspicious systematic behavior, and local mishaps coming from causes of people, faulty mechanisms, and dangers/threats rooted from them. The man is in his mid-30s, and from day in and day out, uses his array of devices, in and outside of his home, to explore the fresh visual virtual network world under the Cyberia net to seek any problems, and to create a program that allows the ability to distinguish between human and real pseudohumans.
An inline telephone call from his earlobe network communication device resonated, and the man answered: “Keyghou here, your query or command?” The voice that called the man late at 11 P.M. Was a woman in her very late 20s, who works in the same main job as the operative detective, and responded: “We got an unknown problem. It's a tripped system from the bottom of the building's exterior docking corner and an alarm from inside has went off while the signal lights flashed right outside one of its doors. However the odd factor is that no one is in there and it appeared as random. Could you check to see any causation using the system timeline logs from that building?” The man confidently replied: “Yes. I'll check it out. Walk to there with caution and use your thermal detection nullifier device to prevent security cameras from sensing your presence. We don't want things to get complicated and unnecessary in this incident even initially. Don't forget to prepare your gun for anything major.” The woman affirmed: “Roger that.” When Keyghou clicked off the call session, he immediately opened the navigation map screen and delved into a pseudopersonification simulative model to get objective perspective on the place that has been under trouble, and proceeded to open both a recording timelog and text-data log to check out exactly when it happened, what the cause is, and what it looked like. What it appears to be was a device placed into a large cold storage room containing a control panel on its walls, adjacent to a mechanical room used for only authorized maintenance personell. The suspicious device appeared to be a magnetic wave control unit, which would cause false alarms to occur by the proximity of the object as a tool of distraction by the unknown perpetrator.
Meanwhile, a perpetrator cloaked in chromatomic camouflage (invisible appearance) walks down an alleyway not far from the building that has been recently silence from the alarms after sometime. The woman walks in the door to find the device and makes an inter-computer call to Keyghou again: “Sir, we have this intruding device that has caused a false alarm in this area of the building. I'm going to shut it off and reset the alarm with the control panel from here. I don't think there has been any problems with the mechanisms from the next room that belong in this building and the basement floor I'm in. Send a signal report with your log to our corps to connect data through it so we can find out what this is all about and who the suspect is. So far, nothing bad has happened just yet--” then when Keyghou just did her command while she shut off the alarm, it went off again for a few seconds and a power outage blew from the rest of the floor, leaving only small system unit lights to stay on and emergency lights came on from the basement floor. She went out the control panel room door to see it, then she attempted to speak to Keyghou with her device on her ear: “Sir, the power just blew out from the building. This could be bad.” Just in the middle of her sentence, the signal was wearing off, and Keyghou noticed it. He responded attentively: “Lya, can you hear me??” As the signal clicked offline, he uttered “Shit...” and then strapped on his agent jacket, grabbed a pistol, emergency communication pocket device, proxy server wireless mobile modem unit, and went out of his apartment's entrance door, running out with his pistol held in place while going down the steps and after a few minutes, reached to the building where it had shut off just as Lya evacuated right at the nick of time.
The unknown perpeatrator figure had been walking paranormally, appearing to have done nothing to the building. Lya and Keyghou started discussing about the oddity and the ongoings of the issue right out in the docking parking lot, and Lya said: “What if this could be done by a false proxy spectator? We've had incidents of these where they further mess up signals the building, but some have been purposely controlled by someone out there. If there's a suspect there, could it be a false figure made to move around the block while a real suspect is abusing an application relying on the Cyberianetwork's object control function to do this?” Detective Keyghou discussed collectively: “There's no telling for sure. Even at any minute, the police is going to come here, but our company's special unit should also come here in a matter of minutes to check this out. I'll send a message signal to them that both you and me will bail out of this area to check out where this figure is, and chase it down. I don't know what the purpose behind all of this is for, but it's like one little game pranked by someone who is out somewhere on the loose in this world, ready to terminate one more living being out of amusement and control.” Lya: “Roger that...to think you know this so well after all your skills to become a detective of this caliber, really would be needed.” They rushed off and went uphill towards a different pathway that held no thermal nor ethereal trace of footsteps to the virtual “ghost” perpetrator that was able to mess up signals and source resonation from the device that had been lying in the control room, shut off, and ready to be handled by a police force. After they were running calmly in the path used as a shortcut, a warm orange-gold light had beamed from high above in another alleyway corner, with the perpetrator standing above them on the edge of an outdoor stairway. The two were spotted, and Keyghou quickly relayed the signal to both the police and their corps' squad force: “Emergency! We got the suspect here in the Cardinal complex alleyway district to the west side of the complex. He got us spotted and we need back-up!!”
Two additional cars were driving swiftly from around a different route to park in near the otherside of one of the alleyways where the anatomically cloaked figure was standing right below the light adjacent to its walls below the top roof. Lya and Keyghou took cover from the other point of view as the suspect shot electric bullets toward the floor and messed up a wire signal to another alley light above the two, causing open electricity to scatter out in an attempt to harm Lya and Keyhou. When the two cars were parked, 4 officers that know the two, came over hastily and used special pistols to use both empcannon shots to disable any ability and electromagnetic manipulation to the humane figure, and another shooting trap blast bullets to decipate. The figure became disabled from using any electro-manipulative abilities from a network-perspective and real-world proximal distance, but was unaffected by the other weapons' shot. After having it stand for a while when they already attempted opening fire, the figure made an animatronic gesture and briefly flashed a gradual light symbol that appeared to be odd in design, then disappeared from visibility with its cloak set to max, and jumped off the building that had the stairway connected to it. The jump was a high, acrobatic leap that the strange figure backflipped a few times before landing, and then ran off swiftly as Lya and Keyghou oversaw it from a distance. The police conintued to stand and communicated with eachother, and then Lya and Keyghou safely walke towards them through the tampered alleway. The detective said to one of his worker friends, Altrick, “What was that?” Altrick replied: “You saw it for yourself. It's no ordinary figure, not that any human would have the ability to move and control objects from a plasmatic standpoint just like that, unharmed.” Lya pondered for a second in a contemplative facial expression, and concluded a statement for the night: “Chances are, we have a prosthetic Paranova on the loose that we had just uncovered. It's only just begun, but this isn't going to be by any means simple at all. Send all police and investigators back in place, and send one more major data report to them and our corps to find this out! This suspect is out on the loose and there could be way more out there ought to harm other innocent living beings!”
Thus, marks a new example of cybercriminality, and fleshes out what this dystopia is, unlike any other~
