Child characters suck already, and when the existence of a character ruins my favorite character in the game, then they're automatically on my shit list.
It doesn't help that everything about the final battle sucked.
As for Toriel, Let's just put it this way. I've been playing the demo since January of last year, I knew how to spare them, but decided to kill them anyways on my first run. I went for the betrayal at that. The only goat character who doesn't suck is Asgore.
