„Damned if I let them see me cry!“

Thus began the hardest time in Tani’s life. This was before Etalyn came along, so all he knew now was that he lost everything and was alone. It was also the last time he got to wear his nice armor. He earned the right to wear that thing. He paid for it with his own money and even with his own blood. And now putting it on the next day would already be a serious crime.

The guy in the middle silently judging the heck out of him is Captain Etaoloth. Even though I can’t draw him right, he’s one of my absolute favorite OCs. I adore that old fuck so much. The guy would be a hero if he didn’t support a brutal dictatorship. I’ll include his bio under the description. He’s been called from retirement as a publicity stunt, and officially to be a right-hand-man to the actual new commander, whom you can barely see on the right.

General Kate isn’t overly developed as a character yet. She’s a hardliner, ruthless and determined to prove her ability by pushing for quick success, after Tani lagged so badly behind the timeframe given to him. Reality will catch up to her, too, but she’ll manage pretty well. The dictator trusts her, and he knows why.

The apparatus in the background is a Beacon. N.C. technology – if the No had built it, it would look a lot fancier. They just captured and repaired it. One of the few times where something visually interesting is going on with the energy flow. I wrote a few pages about the time when they lit the thing that I still kinda like. I’ll also include it below (in German).
