My entry for the fan art contest hosted by the German The Legend of Zelda facebook page. I've wanted to participate in a contest for quite a while, but always ended up not doing so. Not this time! Also I've wanted to get my hands on the gold Epona statue for quite a while, so here goes another try :D I hope you guys like it!

This was soooo much work... The sketch alone went through so many iterations it's ridiculous. I couldn't really decide what I wanted to draw at first, there were so many ideas in my head. But in the end I decided to go with Wolf Link and Midna as drawing Wolf Link was one of the things that got me back into drawing and into game development as a whole. So this is basically a tribute :D
It's hard to believe that at the end of this year it will have been 10 years since the game first came out. I was soooo excited, I can tell you! I had saved for many months to buy the Wii and Twilight Princess at release and my school journal was plastered with a countdown to Dec 8 :D Since then I've played Twilight Princess more often than any other story-based game. It's been quite a while now though, so I'll gladly play the HD version again.
Mainly listened to this https://youtu.be/MZ5hWdbHOCg while drawing, one of my very favorite songs. I think it fits the atmosphere quite well :)

Heh, I'm sure I will! Hopefully the keep Link lefthanded like he was in the Gamecube version. It was pretty lame how they made him a stereotypical righthanded in the Wii version. That may sound like nitpicking, but when you look at gaming's lefthanded biased, it gets a lot more important.
Yeah, as far as I know they used the gamecube version as the base, so Link is gonna be left-handed again :) Though I do get why they changed it for the Wii Version. Swinging the Wii remote with the right hand but Link holding the sword in the left would have felt weird. But I remember that Zelda fans were really pissed about that back then. Link being left-handed has always been very iconic since it is so rare. Are you lefthanded?
I've only played the gamecube version once, so it's probably gonna be super confusing with everything being mirrored again :D My brain just knows it the other way around.

Thanks! Twilight Princess had a cool story and the ending was pretty emotional :) Though I think Skyward Sword made me cry more :D
Yeah, the first sketches had Link with a neutral expression, but then I decided to go for a version with Link and Midna looking at each other or rather smiling at each other confidently to show they've become a great team :) Together they can handle anything. Something like this :)
