Now that the 86 is running again, I decided to give it a shakedown drive up to the summit of Mt Diablo. Car is running well but still needs a lot of fine tuning on the new suspension. It also decided to die 10 feet from the summit thanks to a loose ground wire. Thankfully Slash was able to sort out the issue in about 10 minutes. Once at the summit I had a great time taking photos and managed to snag a few good shots of the AE86!
Enjoy as always!

Thanks. Sadly this vehicle appears to have been in an accident bad enough to total it. Nothing was reported to insurance / carfax etc but there is clear evidence of frame pulling and re-welding on the front drivers side frame rail. I've found damage to the brakes, and control arm along the drivers side so at some point it appears it was in a pretty heavy front/ side collision. The frame is currently twisted and sits about 1.2+ cm lower on the front passenger side forward of the engine cross member. I've had a few friends that do frame/ body repair tell me it shouldn't be too hard to pull it back to where it needs to be but I haven't gotten a price quote yet.
Sadly you are correct that a lot of these are owned by people that don't appreciate them. A lot of people seem to buy them but have no understanding that they are a 30 year old vehicle and require a massive amount of restoration that can't be solved by bolting on autozone/ ebay parts lol XD
