"Cookstravaganza" Photos
Wuff recently submitted a Journal describing a "Cookstravaganza" our office put on for a local teen's homeless shelter (Urban Peak). That Journal is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7412684/
Here are a few images from the event. Just in case folks were interested in all the shenanigans that went along with the big cooking affair. As you can see from the journal, quite a few foods were prepared and then frozen for later easy meals. There were a LOT of yummy "nom noms" created, and wuffy wishes he could have sampled more of them. *grins*
For those interested: Top left is the 'Cookstravaganza Crew' resplendent in their colorful AT&T T-Shirts - all but Caty, who is wielding the camera. That was definitely a small kitchen to be putting together all this food in! From left to right:
- Bob is at the stove, frying up a huge batch of hamburger for the burritos and lasagna.
- Travis is outside the pass-through, looking in.
- Vrghr's Author is the shaggy fellow in the middle, rockin' the Chef's hat.
- Pat is Author's roomie, who wanted to come along and pitch in a hand.
- Jason on the far right, our team manager here at the office.
Top Right is Author measuring out a spice mixture to create a concoction for Pumpkin Spice muffins. Mmm! Those smelled so good! And Author felt a bit like a chemist mixing all sorts of things together. For those who want to create that lovely "Spice Cake" combination, here's what went into it:
-2 Tsp Cinnamon (2 parts)
-1 Tsp Ground Ginger (1 part)
-1/2 tsp Nutmeg (.5 part)
-1/2 tsp Allspice (.5 part)
-1/2 tsp ground Cloves(.5 Part)
-1/2 tsp Mace (.5 part)
Wuff found you can buy "Pumpkin Pie" spice, but you can't find a "Spice Cake" spice combination all pre-mixed. The combo here can transform an ordinary yellow cake mix into spice cake, and can flavor pumpkin and other muffins, or add a lovely "spice cake" aroma and taste to hot beverages. It really smells YUMMY!!
Bottom, the dining area turned into an auxiliary prep station. Bob is putting together the Lasagna, while 20 sack lunches await the arrival of the kids. Travis is mixing muffins in the pass-through, while Author is bouncing about the kitchen making soup beans and doing "mise en place" chopping, dicing, etc. of peppers, onions, carrots, celery, chicken, etc., for many other dishes.
End tally: 14 different dishes made, each sized to feed 20 hungry teens. That's 240+ meals created in ~10 hours by a bunch of enthusiastic but amateur cooks. Not a bad day's work!

Pawsome! Finally get ta see what Superchefwuff looks like... an ya look almost exactly how I imagined... jovial an 'fluffy'... rockin' a thick mane an scruffy beard... I'd have a hard time not huggin' ya now an then ya jus' got that kinda 'vibe' about'cha...an glad ta finally get ta see some'a yer 'crew'... Wish'em all well fer me an an extra helpin'a thanks ta all'a ya fer doin' what'cha do best fer those who need it most! :)
*chuckles* Wuffy's Author has been a pretty secretive sort, but now the truth is out there. *grin*
Yah, Author does enjoy hugs too, so your mental picture of him was pretty much "on target". The beard and 'mane' tend to change periodically, depending on which corporate big wigs are getting involved in what meetings. Some of them prefer a more "trimmed and tight" appearance. But he usually grows things back out again when those sessions are over. And the beard stays in place at all times, even when it gets less "scruffy" ("Who you callin' 'scruffy'?" /H. Solo)
Will certainly pass along your well wishes to the team! They really put out a huge effort to make this a success! They're a great group to work with, and wuff (and Author) are both thrilled to be a part of their team. They're pretty happy to have a "cookin' wuff" with them too - they like Vrghr's creations. *grins*

Thank you so much! Those concrete floors were pretty hard on the feet by the end of the shift, but it was totally worth it!
Glad to be able to share this with all. The office crew totally deserve the time in the public eye. They did a wonderful job!
Wuff is SO happy to work with folks like this!
