Personal - Come Fly With Me?
~~~
Say hello to Jaeger, the newest dragon and fursuit to my squad! He was just finished two weeks ago, with his first photoshoot and public outing this past weekend!
This guy is the first fullsuit I've ever made, head and all! He was tag-teamed over the past couple months with my friend,
Starrik ! A fursuit maker themselves, Starrik helped me through the process. He features:
-Foam head, vinyl horns, 6+ individual feathers
-Front zipper
-Feral-style, hand-sewn hand paws designed by myself
-Tons of seal fur!
-Chibi wings that flap quite nicely
-Removable digitigrade padding, patterned by myself
-A legit 8' long tail
Jaeger is the MAN! I loved designing this guy. If it isn't already obvious, he is a 'Blue Angel' Dutch Angel Dragon, mostly based off the design of the US Navy demo team's F-18s, with some other nautical aspects thrown in there. (Heavy emphasis on blue and gold.) Being Active Duty, Winged Naval Aviator myself, this guy's design means a lot to me personally.
He features the colours and nose-back stripes like on the jets themselves, and the fiery colours on his feathers represent the full afterburner! Dual golden stripes represent the typical rank of the Blue Angels team pilots, although I've made them gold to hint that Jaeger here is on the 'Golden Path,' for my fellow military brethren.
Pale blue tints fade to sky blue on his belly, representing the all encompassing blue of Navy Aviation, from the sky above the the ocean below. And, with being based off of the F-18 Hornet, his face shape is more slender than your typical Dutchie, featuring an aerodynamic, pointed snout.
Oh, and by the way, his callsign is 'Chuck,' if anybody was wondering. B)
Realistic Ultimate Reference Sheet is in the works, folks!
Jaeger - Artwork, Design, & Fursuit © myself, TwilightSaint - Any tracing, copying of the design, recolouration of this photo, or creating derivative characters heavily inspired by Jaeger's design & Navy theme are strictly prohibited.
...
(Please also note that I emphasize that Jaeger here is the ORIGINAL Navy Dutchie. Reason I emphasize this is that it's been brought to my attention that, after posting teaser shots and a couple quick shots of the fullsuit on places like Instagram and Twitter, another individual is attempting to recreate a dragon that looks like Jaeger and steal my idea and design for profit. As mentioned above, this character and design means a great deal to myself, being in the military. So if anyone happens to come across someone blatantly copying my design and idea, please bring this to my attention as quickly as possible.)
Though I may not have accounts on many other places I will gladly keep an eye open as any form of art theft I take very seriously, all things considered I do completely understand one's dedication, effort, and love to their OCs and 'sonas, so I completely have your back if things would go crazy ^^
P.S. I can't wait to see you fursuit dance with Jaeger hehehe
Thanks so much! ^^
Yeah, this was brought to my attention earlier - it's beyond frustrating. The person caught doing it has a history of using other folks' ideas, and the fact that I was notified they were attempting to recreate a design like mine RIGHT after my friend and I posted pictures of the suit really has me on edge. The fact that the design is so personally important to me has me floored, as well.
I have no clue why people should choose to make a character based off someone else's design rather than make it something personal to them. People like that actually make me wonder about the type of person they are to not have any sense of personal creativity. Like seriously, you HAVE to be boring if you would rather choose to pull from some else's experiences rather than your own.
Like do these people not have hobbies or likes or dislikes? They can't pull inspiration from personal experiences, personal joys, or favorite things? Do they not have a favorite food, game, animal, show, song, band, ANYTHING?! They could even have chosen a favorite pet or animal. I mean the choices are endless and would be a lot less irritating for themselves and everyone else if they just stop being lazy and actually made something for themselves. I mean really as much as a hissy fit people throw over something as asinine as a character's color palette, you would think more people would stay away from totally obvious copying or theft. But nope! Some people just have to stick their hand in the flame even after watching someone else get burned just to see if maybe this time THEY won't be.
