yenas are simply awesome. I've just realised how much I love these guys. C:

A classmate, Kivagyte brought up the idea of drawing a hyena warrior for him. His timing was pretty much spot on, as I was thinking about such thing the day before.
My first idea was depicting him as a Zulu warrior, aka Impi. His shield (isihlangu) and spear (assegai) were based on references, the smaller accessories, however, were just made up on the spot.

This is my first picture where I used only the tablet, as needed some practice. The lines are somewhat hairy - well duh - and the shading could be way, way better, but still, I'm impressed how much I enjoyed drawing this character.
