Well, Zootopia is coming/came out...and...*slow clap* good work media by drawing in people for it being a...*glances at notes*..."furry" movie, whatever that's suppose to mean. Honestly, Disney has done a lot of things like this, they just got lucky with the times and their marketing to get people to rave on this film so people flood into theaters on the premise of it's label. Muahahah! Disney sucked you in! They own your souls now! Muahhahaha!
But seriously, kinda, I haven't seen the film yet, but the previews show it to be well animated, having a decent story, and pulling some clever jokes here and there. It seemed to change it's focus from Nick to Judy, but they seem to share the screen from how it looks, so it's good. The combination of a cop working with a con isn't anything too new, but at least the two seem likeable and play off each other well in whatever world they are in.
The story was up in the air at first, but then as I saw the trailers, I saw the switch that had it focusing on Judy in the classic, possibly overused, "new girl in town trying to prove herself". But with the addition of prejudice between Prey and Predator gave a more minority look to it (BIG hand to the film's directors by the way, and I'm serious on this, as they answered the "do they eat their neighbors?" question about what Predators eat. MANY avoid that question or never answer it, but these guys did, and they answered it well, so thumbs up to them!). Not to mention the addition of some "affliction" that causes someone to go feral/wild which intrigued me more.
It'll probably be a bit before I can sneak a prob into some theater to see it myself, but I can be patient. Besides, I'm sure the theaters are going to be teeming with humans in fursuits expecting....something from the film...but overall, I don't doubt I won't be entertained myself in some way. After all, there are a TON of human films out there...animated features just have wider motion I think.
Anyway, booted up a program of Zootopia downtown to just look around a little....and in something I definitely need to check in the future, it loaded an "encounter" for me. Needless to say, I didn't need to know Nick's background when he walked in and tried to enter conversation with me. That's not to say Nick isn't a bad guy but...when he wants something, there's always a catch...for you, not him. Of course, I've seen the trailers and I KNOW what he was going to coerce me into doing, and I was having no part of it. I already deal with someone who thinks he has a silver tongue on board the ship, so I have a good sense when I'm being manipulated...
Good thing I had that sandwich to cover the fact I socked him in the nose. Harsh maybe, but he'll heal, just like my pride. I feel bad for Finnick though....no where near enough to be pushed into it myself.
Enjoy the film ya'll!

I went and saw Zootopia today so I now know what scheme you guys are all talking about. Finnick does do a great job pretending to be Nick's son, that whole scene really tugged at my heartstrings. I don't blame Judy for falling for it, I would have done the same thing. The only thing that would ruin it would be if he speaks. Damn that deep voice of his is scary!
I don't think there's a price high enough to make Azul want to pretend to be someone else's baby son. However I don't understand why Nick thought you could play the part as you clearly don't resemble a fox at all.
Great movie though, definitely buying it when it comes out.
