Another critter to put in my fantasy world Ardoria :3
Inspirations came from deep sea fish, snakes, and general serpent-like dragons. I love animal bioluminescence and so try and sneak that into designs whenever I can hehe. I'm thinking I might shrink it down by a meter or three though.
Like snakes and some deep sea fish (Such as the 'Chiasmodon' swallower fishes the dragon takes its name from) it can eat fairly large prey whole, up to three or four times its own size. Also like these real life animals, you'll almost never ever see it do so since not only is that quite uncomfortable - especially if its victim is still alive - but such a meal could result in its death, either from its food taking too long to digest or from it simply being too large for it to handle.
Generally however, they won't bother with prey much larger than itself unless they're starving. After gorging themselves on a hefty meal, they'll drag themselves back to their lairs to hibernate and digest. Typically they'll only need to eat such a meal a few times a year.
The creature can also turn itself invisible, for a quick escape or to sneak up on a potential meal. While it can dim the lures along its body and tail it can't fully hide them, so keen eyes can still spot the creature while its invisible, especially in dark locations. Fans of Monster Hunter might remember Gypceros and the lamp thing on its head and how it'd trigger a blinding flash from the organ. Well this guy can pretty much do the same thing, but with his tail lure. I guess he's like a combination of Chameleos and Gypceros then? XD
Khysmadion are nocturnal, sleeping during the day and hunting at night. Frequently found living within walking distance of large bodies of water, they're capable of swimming so can grab large fish to eat as well as land dwelling animals. Their lifespan tends to be in the 180 ~ 200 year range, reaching full maturity around 75 years of age. Khysmadion lay eggs, with up to three eggs per clutch being laid, but rarely more than one or two. The parents look after the young until they're able to hunt on their own, but they don't stray too far from their birthplace until they reach adulthood.
Aaand that should about do it I think hehe. I worked on this for about six hours today, and I'm so happy to have finished it ^^

Hehe, it had several deep-sea fauna inspiring it yeah :D
The long tail with the lure from the gulper eels, the head, fins, and name from the Swallower fishes... The eating ability of both x'D
^^
Deep sea fish are so cool, strange at times, but cool. So they make great inspiration for alien and fantasy critters :D
