I named Erma after after the arms manufacturer ERMA, creator of the "Schmeisser" MP-40. Felna was a deliberate twist on feline, in part to see who would default to "felina" or somesuch.

....or perhaps Erma Felna's historians just put those rationalization into your mind so that you wouldn't realize you were being sent a real story from the future? (kidding....rilly....)
A great name, anyway - hard to imagine her having a different name, details, etc - the whole story, every detail seems so "just so".
