A really rough sketch I know. But I haven't been able to draw anything the last few days without it looking like shit to me. That's why I haven't put anything up lately and it was really starting to bug me. o_O
I figured this drawing's topic would make up for it's lack of complexity, because honestly I can't think of anything cuter then a baby car!
No new world building here, though it's nice to actually see some of it drawn, I'll leave the set-up of this vague, might be fun to see the scenarios you guys come up with in the comments. But I thought it'd be cool to show some human anthro-car interaction for a change. Not sure weather this little carling is an orphan, or if it's just one of many in a litter maybe scurrying around her feet, whatever you guys wanna think I suppose.
The idea was though that the girl, looks like maybe a daughter, is a member of a family who's car had had babies and she, overcome by the cuteness and having her own motherly instincts, wanted to help their car get her newborn pups fed. Family helps family after all right? :)

I know! I ache to hold one too! They just look so damn huggable and squeezable. Just cuz normal cars are so huge you feel like a bug latching onto a small part of their body. Just to hold and totally squeeze and surround a tiny little car would be amazing. <3

if i were to make a "story" based on this picture i would think the baby car is as you said an "orphan" or an abandoned car the girl, having been around (and maybe owning a living car) has the curiosity to find out what a car baby is like, but, since the one she has has been "de-sexed" and cant reproduce, she decides to raise one up, using advice from her living car contact (such as what kind of oil to feed them, how to hold them, when they can start driving and/or walking) but since she is the one that found the baby car, the car sees her as it's mother...
It was 9;40am when I wrote my first long LONG winded comment voicing my high praise for this picture. 9:40am and about 10:05 by the time I was done. And when I clicked send FA WAS APPARENTLY DOWN SO I LOST ALL OF WHAT I WROTE!!!! NOW I'M GOING TO TRY TO REWRITE EVERYTHING BUT THAT COOL!

BACKFLIPPING BOILER PLATES!! This picture is ADORABLE!! From the pose to the expressions, even without the little heart detail this picture speaks volumes! I don't know what you're talking about a rough sketch for! This looks great! Like REALLY Great! It's simple yes and I know it hasn't been touched by your masterful coloring skills but even like this, this is a fantastic piece of artwork! lol the way the Car pup looks it makes me think of this old cartoon I used to watch as a child where all the cars in the world were sentient and could stand up Anthro style, and this Taxi Cab and his blue car wife (who really puts me in mind of Susie from that Disney Short you showed me ages ago) get their baby from the hospital and take him home for the first time and as the cartoon progresses the baby wants to be a Hot Rod instead of a Taxi Cab. I tried finding the cartoon on youtube but I can't for the life of me remember much more than that or who made it. lol thought I'm sure if anyone knows what I'm talking about it's you! Otherwise I'm going to have to go rooting through my old VHS tapes to find where we have it recorded. lol But I digress, seeing that little adorable thing makes me think of that and your Camero family portrait! It's adorably done and he has this face of complete newness to the world! So congrats to you for that! Perfectly executed my friend!!
And I really enjoy the look of the lady in this picture! I'm not sure why but when I see her I get this really strong like... late 80s early 90s vibe from her! lol but it really just works for her and sort of balances her out to be seeing her swooning over this little Car pup! I could imagine the story behind this very clearly in fact! XD If you ever want me to give this a crack like what you had me do for that Jacob's Ladder song I'd be more than happy to oblige! Either way I love how this picture comes together and the feel of it is just amazing! I actually really hope you come back to it later and make it more than a sketch!

I actually debated weather or not to add the little emoticon and chat *suckle* to the picture, I should probably give my audience more credit that they could figure the stuff out on their own. Well rough in the sense that the lines are rough, there's still sketch-lines left, the overall detail is low and little to no effort was put into the coloring.. is that good enough definition? : P Oh, yeah, I know that cartoon dude, it was a Tex Avery cartoon "One Cab's Family" which was kinda weird because the same artist basically made a carbon copy of the same cartoon and plot but with airplanes too. I loved the idea, the car-puns were cute, I even liked the story. The style still bugs me though, we've talked about this. Really just put off by the whole 'tires stretched into arms' style.. it just looks really off to me. I know this might seem hypocritical coming from me, but the cars kinda seemed TOO anthro, the lacked much detail that made them look like cars and instead... well they resemble my sketch-style 'butter-bar cars' style more then actual cars! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17623276/

Lol now that you mention it, the Camero Family picture is pretty similar isn't it? At least in idea, I guess consider it that cartoon if it were animated by me. :3 ....and maybe if it had some of the cliche 1950s family drama removed. lol
I'd like to keep the decade as vague as possible considering my universe's timeline isn't established to have been at any particular time. But considering that in my anthro-universe, anthro cars of 95' Miatas exist.. the whole 'anthromobiles' movement must have happened prior to present day. I like to think of it similar to Fallout , where it's a universe where our technology and society branched off differently then in our universe at some point.
By all means, I'd love you to work some of your author skills on this setup. Who knows, maybe you can inspire it to become the next Pinky story if you do an amazing enough job. ;) Though admittedly, between us and any comment stalkers. If I ever get around to doing the story of Emilio buying baby Cindi and raising her.. we could very well tell a very similar story.

Pfff XD of course you would! lol but I agree with you there, a lot of your pictures are so expressive that they reach a point where they sort of have a loud enough voice to speak for themselves! That's something about your art and your comics that I've always enjoyed! lol and well I suppose technically rough then XD and YES!! Thank you for coming through for me buddy! How very odd! o-0 not sure I ever saw the airplane version though. lol and I will admit that the style is a little lacking in the "What the heck kind of car even is that" department; especially when you have the painted and very detailed cars in the background. lol So yeah I'll agree there that they're too anthro. I want to find a stable ground for developing my own style. Heck I need to refine mine for trains because all the trains in my Furry Town that I put together (Pelican's Bay) are sentient, though feral in shape.

Ah, that's very understandable man! lol I could see dates and stuff getting in the way unless you were willing to sit down and literally plan out everything in the Car world history! And I like the Fallout method too! XD You could make it like an old 20s or 50s broadcast "Cars!! The futures of the travel industry in this great nation! Yes, the humble automobile tirelessly and thanklessly serve their masters through thick and thin, rain, snow, sleet, and hail. BUT, when exposed to concentrated doses of ATOMIC ENERGY, man's faithful mechanical servant is imbued with life!" all spoken in that Trans-Atlantic Accent over a very tinny radio speaker.
Just name the time and place man! XD and we could take our story ideas to notes so as to avoid spoilers! And I very very eagerly await that tale!!

Well that's very nice of you to say dude, kind of ironic that someone with Aspergers who's biggest aspect is trouble reading peoples face.. would in turn draw art that seemingly has such strong emotions. Yeah, it's deciding when the convergent point in the timelines would be. I wonder, what time in our history would it maybe be interesting to see anthro-cars come about? Or maybe in their primitive form of just being sentient cars. I have been toying around with the idea of even 50s cars in my universe being someone-anthro.. with like animated faces and AI. But the funny thing is that it would mimic the early computer age with their pixelated monochrome amazingness. Like for instance the eyes on the 50s cars would be less realistic and would be pixelated obviously computer generate pupils on monochrome-green backlit headlight-eyes. XD

Oh WOW, yeah I think I DID see that one once upon a decade! Well even at the beginning if you look at the background of the hospital there's just these regular cars scattered here and there like there's constantly this force trying to remind you "CAAAAAAAAAARS" just in case their near formless bodies allowed you to forget. lol and yes it is! Especially considering that if you think about it, Jr has a kill count of at least two other cars during his little rampage!

I think that's be really cool to see! When I think computers even to this day I think about those old Monochrome screens with green text and those multi-colored Apple logos that were in my school's library! lol I'll have to see a couple drawings of them! For my cars you'll have to forgive me but I've always been partial to the idea that there's just a little bit of magic in the world and that they're alive simply because of that fact. I think in my earliest writings involving a living Car I had living Cartoons AND Living cars in the same universe fueled and created by a thick black inky substance called LIFE.

Yeah it was one of my childhood movies, gotta love John Candy. I even bought the special "Those Aren't Pillows" edition a few years ago. It sucks that I have to hold the torture and murder of that car against the movie now, now that I have the feelings about cars I do now.

He's basically that show's advertising whore, the one they always show cracking a joke in the advertisements. He's just a dick in every scene he's in, that's his thing. I don't know why the other characters stand him, in any real-life world I highly doubt they would.
Now I can eat anything I want and just have my arteries cleansed regularly! : D

I think, in a world like this, it isnt untypical that cars hire human babysitters for their little ones. Depending on what car the parents are, their jobs might take more of their freetime than others.
It wouldnt be weird if that possibility exists as i dont see a reason why they shouldn't help each other and such. ^^
I was about to say that their hands and arms can offer a nicer hold for the little car but that wouldn't work that well because cars always got babies and somehow it worked fine for decades as well. See? I put thoughts into this too. ^^ xD
