BIOGRAPHY

Artelyn Juniper Cross

Profile: Artelyn is very sweet, protective and adventurous, but can have a fierce temper. She loves to explore new places, learn new things, and spend time exploring nature and her spirituality. Her family means everything to her, and she is known to take in others and care for them. Due to her ability to visit alternate worlds/dimensions, she is wise beyond her years, and she also has mild PTSD. She is normally able to disconnect from her experiences, but sometimes they catch up to her. She also has depression, but does her best to keep an upbeat outlook.

Etymology: Her mother picked her first name, so its meaning or origin is secret, but her father chose her middle name after her grandmother, and her last name was chosen to mislead the Faerie Courts from connecting her and her brother to their father.

Age: Physical, almost 26 Mental, undetermined, seemingly able to mix and match childish traits with wisdom.
Species: Faerie/Russian Blue mix

Companions: She has a small blue dragon named Umbra, who has his wings bound. He is ornery, and feisty, but loves Artelyn even if he gives her trouble. She also has a small Demi-fey named Bucca living in a flowerbox just outside her dining room window. She met him when she visited the Unseelie mound, and he fell in love with her and pledged to serve her, even if she never reciprocated his feelings. Bucca is normally the size of Artelyn's hand, but he can make himself 3 feet tall. At last, there is Oscar Lee, a Cajun spirit she rescued when a dark spirit pushed his soul from his body. She was able to put his soul into a Voodoo Doll, and he now lives with her as her guardian and friend. He can change to his actual size, but mostly remains in doll form, as it is very draining to take on his actual size.

Family: Father: Cain Bullstrom, Russian Blue Cat, pharmacist, Faerie Lore buff. Mother: Lady Igraine of the Shimmering Gardens, Dragonfly Faerie, former Seelie Court Noble, now Unseelie Court noble. Siblings, Arthur and Cael her triplet brothers, and Remy, black cat, older half-sister.

Abilities and Powers:
World-Walking: The ability to travel across multiple dimensions and planes. Sometimes enters a reality where she already exists, and will “inhabit” that version of herself for a while, without remembering who she really is. This has lead to her living entire lives where she has had a variety of dramatic experiences, and even had families or fought in wars, giving her wisdom beyond her years, as she carries all those experiences within her. She can take others with her

Glamour: A passive Faerie magic that allows her to alter her appearance and create illusions so real that you can interact with them and never know it wasn’t real. She usually uses her Glamour to suppress her ethereal glow, and her Natural Allure. Her glamour can only be seen through by those who have the Second Sight, and those who know how to break glamour. She also often uses it to alter her appearance, such as changing her hairstyle.

Witchcraft: She’s a practicing Wiccan, so uses various forms of witchcraft in tandem with her natural magic

Earth and Light Magic: Includes healing, manipulating rock and plants, communing with animals, and using light to banish dark energies

Natural Allure: A passive power she inherited from her mother that attracts people to her and puts them at risk of being enchanted. If she isn’t careful, people can become so enamored and dependant, that if they are not constantly around her, they will wither away and die.

General Psychic Abilities: Clairvoyance, clairaudience, precognition, sensing spirits, intuition, etc. Dabbles in most types. Most of these apply to her connection with her twin brother, Arthur

Story: Artelyn’s story begins with her father. Her father, Cain, was in is early twenties, and was apprenticed to be a pharmacist. He also had a love of Faerie lore, and would often sneak off to try and sneak a peek at the Fair Folke that were said to live in the woods near his small town. One day, he stumbled upon a stunning Faerie woman- a wood nymph- whose leg was caught in an iron bear trap that had been set by a hunter. She couldn’t free herself, as iron hurts the Fey, so he pried open the trap and set her free. To show her gratitude, she offered him a boon, and he asked to see inside a Faerie Mound. She took him, and he soon found himself trapped, and passed off from Fey to Fey as a pet and toy. He was kept for what seemed to be twenty years, until he was passed off to the Lady Igraine. She kept him for a brief period, and fell in love with him, and he in return fell for her. Eventually her Faerie suitors found out about their affair, and became jealous and wished to kill him. To protect him, she released him back into the Mortal world, with a charm to protect him from his true age catching up to him. He returned to the Mortal world to find nearly 200 years had passed. Though he was still in love with Lady Igraine, he left his hometown, and married a kind woman, and had a daughter, Remy. When Remy was three, however, her mother died, and after her death, Cain decided to return to his hometown, in spite of what dangers awaited him in the forest. Lady Igraine found out he had returned, and began meeting him at the edge of the woods, where they rekindled their love in secret. Some time passed, and Lady Igraine became pregnant with twins- Artelyn and Arthur. Her pregnancy drew the attention of the courts, and many began demanding to know who the father was. She refused to tell, out of fear that those who had threatened Cain before would seek him again, or that others may try to hurt or use him to manipulate her. Once the twins were born, she gave them to Cain, and laid marks on them to conceal them from those who would seek them (their eye and shoulder tattoos). She then told him he must take all three of his children, move far away, and never come back under any circumstances. As much as this wounded them both, they knew it was necessary, and Cain moved from Ireland to America. He found an exiled Faerie woman to help teach Artelyn and Arthur to control their Faerie abilities as they grew, and at age 5, Artelyn learned about her ability to World-Walk when she was playing in the yard and disappeared before her siblings’ eyes. She had walked into an alternate world, where she met an alternate version of herself that was also a World-Walker. Over the years, her alternate self was able to teach her how to control her abilities, and through her travels, she also mastered her other magics.

Notes:
She and her twin brother Arthur share a deep connection, delving into a psychic connection, and he is very protective of her.
Flesh and innards are a mix of bright fuschia pink and midnight blue
Blood is usually dark amethyst, but if she is unglamoured or using magic, it becomes sparkly and glows a bright fuschia pink.
Her fur is very thin; more like her skin were made of velvet, only much lighter and softer to the touch. Most people can only tell she has fur by the color, or by touching her. She also has an ethereal glow that makes her skin look like she swallowed the moon, and makes her wings eyes and hair shine like jewels beneath a sun-lit creek, unless she uses Glamour
