After the encounter with the rancor the Jedi quickly turned to using the force to try and suade the beast into a more docile state, confident that his abilities would overpower the beast's weak mind. He rose a hand and waved it in front of his head, using the force to break into the beast's mind and try to take control. For a moment, the beast would just stare, then slowly lean in to press its head against his open palm. The Jedi had tamed the violent beast.
