New concept for the main character of my dystopian anthro comic Alpha. Instead of an ex-cop German Shepherd, he's a destitute outlaw and budding mercenary, and a Dogo Argentino. (Dante Angelino the Dogo Argentino sounds hilarious to say out loud, and that wasn't intentional but I love it).
Dante comes from a broken home in a relatively rural town/concentration camp (depends on your perspective) pretty heavily monitored and controlled by the corrupt government. He lived with his widowed mother and younger sister until his late teens, when both were taken in a Special Police raid of his home. He escaped and has been in hiding on the outskirts of the town ever since, had his ears cropped to somewhat mask his identity, and has been taking...rather questionable job offers to scrape out a living the past few years.
This comic idea is still really rough around the edges (that's an understatement), but if nothing else, character design is really fun and has been keeping me up both writing and drawing for days now. Hopefully if I can hammer out enough developed characters, the story will flow into place and I can properly begin.

Name: Dante Angelino (Latin American “visit”)
Breed: Dogo Argentino
Sex: Male
Age: 24
MBTI: ISTP
Alignment: Neutral Good
Zodiac: Cancer (June 22)
Appearance: Short white fur, brown nose, rather narrow, slanted eyes, cropped ears, one of which is pierced with a silver cuff earring
Personality: Withdrawn and rather socially awkward, he acts tough but is actually full of insecurity, lonely because few approach or try to befriend him due to his imposing outward appearance and forced fugitive lifestyle. Quick to learn and also quick to teach, he's an avid observer, a sponge for knowledge, and is eager to share everything he has, down to his last scrap of food, even with a total stranger. He's more trusting than he probably should be, given past experience, and attempts to see the best in others whenever he can.
