Here is another presentation of souvenirs connected to Disney's CGI feature "Zootopia" (which already broke a record for the highest grossing March opening in theaters for an animated film - beating out "Frozen"). This time, it comes in the form of a 'photo-op' - taken by fellow "FA" member
Funimal. But, let's start a day or two earlier...
After seeing "Zootopia" at the IMAX Cinema on Thursday night, I went to my local Disney Store in Coral Springs, Florida on Saturday morning, where they were holding a special 'in-store event' for children, pertaining to the film. There, the youngsters were shown a special video which helped introduce them to some of the characters from "Zootopia", and gave them each an opportunity to become a police officer - just like 'Judy Hopps' - by trying to solve a crime. They were each given a pair of rabbit ears to wear, and a sheet of paper with a code to decipher a special message. The letters in the message were scattered about the store (on pictures of some of the "Zootopia" cast). Most of the children deciphered the message and each received for their efforts a special badge that reads "Junior Zootopia Officer".
I'd asked one of the employees at the store if I could have a badge and a pair of rabbit ears myself. I even presented my own version of the deciphered message. She was more than happy to comply (partially because I'd brought in some of my 'fan art' of the film - that has already appeared in "FA" - which amused her co-workers).
Now, 'fast forward' to Sunday, when Funimal and I went to an early screening of "Zootopia" in 3-D at a Coral Springs cinema. (Needless to say, we both enjoyed the film - me, for the second time!) Upon returning to my Margate home, I'd asked Funimal to take a picture (with his smartphone) of me wearing my "Zootopia" badge and rabbit ears, as well as my "Megaplex" T-shirt (from a 'furry con' of a few years back)!
Have any of YOU brought back any mementos from "Zootopia" (besides the usual toys and dolls associated with the film)?
