Head in the Clouds—by BlurTheFur

He woke up and started the weekend normally enough. No work to do, no other obligations… he could just relax for the day. After eating a small breakfast, he checked out the weather forecast—spring temperatures and sunny skies for the foreseeable future. It was a perfect day to spend outside. He hadn't transformed into a dragon in a few days due to rain, so he looked forward to doing so again.
He never did figure out what determined how big he would be whenever he transformed into a dragon. If he was doing a construction or demolitions job, he seemed to grow to an appropriate size for it, coming up to the height of the surrounding buildings. If his significant other was itching to explore a certain part of his body, he seemed to become the right size for that, too, whatever that part may be. If he was feeling a bit exhibitionist, he would tower over cities to be seen for miles. All he could reason out was that something subconscious dictated his growth, and yet he couldn't seem to control it.
As he stepped outside to transform, he wondered: what if he didn't have a purpose for transforming? He wasn't becoming a dragon for some purpose today; he just felt that he hadn't done it in a while. He decided not to transform right away. Instead, he spent a few minutes meditating. Every time a mental image of himself as a dragon at some size in some environment popped up, he cleared it away. Finally, when he was confident that he had no expectations, he focused and began to transform. As usual, his home seemed to dwindle beside him, as did everything else. The downtown area of his city, visible in the distance, quickly shrank before him as well. He reached the size of mountains visible from his height—a typical height when he wanted to show off, and the tallest he usually became—but those too became specks at his toes as his head breached the clouds, with the feeling of growth still coursing through him…
BlurTheFur surprised me with this picture a few days ago. It was perfect for the start of Macro March, and I look forward to getting taller for the rest of the month. The universe awaits!
His original submission is here to collect all of your faves and watches!
