Finally done with this! It's been an unintentional delay after delay for this guy. He's gone through a lot, and even had a color scheme change. He looks so much better in person!

hmm, scaly and colourful. remodeling the nose must have been a lot of work... it still looks soft like a real horse's, and that beard must tickle like anything. :) how did you fasten that tail to the rest of the body? it must be most likely to break off.
I love this, it looks great, unusual and lifelike. :)

Thank you!
Oh god, that tail was a pain in the butt from the start. He actually has a bit of history before he got to this point. The tail is wire enforced, with foil armeture,sculpted with a very durable material. In all, the tail is pretty durable, but met the untimely fate of an evil monster called USPS. He was shipped out to a friend who was going to show him (yes, yes, i know. They do make model horse shows like real horse shows). He'd gotten beaten up pretty bad, and came home with a missing antler and his tail was cracked in two places.. It was difficult to repair the tail (and managed, thank goodness!). Repairs, resculpts and repaints later, he ended up like this, as requested by the commissoner :}
He used to look like this before:

It's kind of funny. I don't really think of sculpting and doing this kind of stuff as work, really. I really enjoy doing them :} Maybe not so much the painting part, but I still like doing them!
Whew, sorry, that explanation was a novel. XD

heh, I don't mind. I asked, after all. ^^
I have a feeling nowadays not a single shipping service handles packages like they should, no matter how many "Glass, do not throw" signs you wrap around it. german postal service advises you to pack it safe enough to survive an atomic first strike unharmed, and still you won't have a real guarantee. a friend of mine worked at a comic store and they received back a "Broken DVD". someone run it over with a forklifter (you could see the tyre marks on the package) and they simply delivered it instead of sending it back. :P
