its weird when your roommate who you're certain has no idea you're a furry suddenly calls you out completely nonchalantly on being one during a dnd match.. it makes me wonder how long he's known an just never cared to mention it..
anyway, drew this up yesterday before playin. its supposed to be my character, a shifter rogue thief. Its the closest they'd let me get away with playin an anthro character ^^ course the gms also a closet fur himself so it helps, heh. They started callin him weaselboy durin the game cuz he's so good at RUNNIN AWAY.. can't they tell he's a fox? its a silly game. I like it alot :3

Shifters are win, but sadly they are one of the closest things to anthro you can get while still being 0 level adjusted as a race >.> Gnolls are +1 with 2 monster levels, and the similar issue for goatfolk and lizardfolk. Catfolk are also +1 adjusted, but no racial levels. Only other anthro-ish races I can think of are darfellan (orca people) and hadozee (flying deck apes), both from Stormwrack book and 0 adjusted, so perhaps you can look into those for later campaigns. Yah X3 I'm a terrible geek.
Anyway, awesome pic. The style suits a playing card. But why are you jack of diamonds instead of joker if you're a trickster type? >>

my characters name is tremane in teh game. it titleing this submission, joker of diamonds just didnt sound as good as jack. And tremane of diamonds sounds weird. So jack it is, if just for this submission. I didnt actually give the card hes on any specific number, so hes kinda a face card then.. but if this were poker, jokers are out, so.. jack is the next best one. And I always liked jacks anyway, since they have a J on them an my names jasper ^^ they were like made for meeee
Savage Species was 3.0 instead of 3.5, and it's HORRIBLY balanced for play >.o It's one of my least fave books because while the possibilities are nice, the chances for players to just crap on game balance is too high. Having played with folks using the centaur template from that, they get crazy base attribute bonuses and that makes more normal characters feel kinda pathetic, even with more levels under their belt.
I never got to use it, myself. I was just as bad off, though -- I tried using the Animen (Mythic Races) as written. +2 AC, +2 Con, -2 Wis bonuses to Hide, Spot and Wilderness Lore, plus a single bestial attribute -- it still didn't make up for the three-level LA. We ran into a winter wolf and my character died in one hit.
Ive allready had one request to do more in this style, an the other guys in the dnd group want character drawings now too, heh. Though, I only picked teh crad motif since it fit the character, not necessarily the party. I'll prbably do background stuff specific for them and then post their finished drawings over on deviantart. But I like the idea of doing furry themed face cards an maybe makin a deck. Ive seen others, but I think every one Ive seen was super varied because each artist got one card- an I think they were all adult too. Maybe its time to do a full deck themed clean and furry and oldschool card art lookin like this ^^
