All I have to say is 'Wow!' Ok, well I lied, now I'm going to explain why its 'Wow!' The colouring is drop dead gorgeous. The lighting/shading/shadows look great! Beautiful skin colour and the hair goes excellently with it. I love the strands whipping about a bit. The cloak and dress is amazing! Such a nice red and I really enjoy the slightly different tone in the cloak vs the dress. The way the train and hood hang are really good, not to mention the dress is looking very attractive. The crystals look very cool the way they glow and I like how the one of her neck is sort of 'guiding' her or whatever. The little blue beaded bracelets/clasps are a nice touch as well and I like how you did the cave with the bit of sky and waterfall. Great colouring on the steps; you definitely get that feeling of it being a large dark cave down below. I also like the fact she's barefoot. Tremendous piece overall! A definite favourite!
I don't think a good artist is ever satisfied with their work, always looking to push themselves to the next level. They are their own harshest cirtics but at the same time, this is what always prompts them to get better. One thing I learned about writing I think also applies to drawing and coloring. The best way to get better is to study and critic other's works. Find out what you like and don't, and figure out how that works.
In alot of writing forums they suggest you critique dozens of other peoples works before you ever post your own, saying this is the best and only way to get better.
Food for thoguht at least.
