Journal entry number two from the expedition of the Salamon home world by Dr. Amadea Daniela.
Upon the early sunrise on the second day of my expedition, Elder and I set off towards the closest village of Ice Salamons. Along the way I took notes on the conditions of the areas we traveled through and how despite the extreme conditions of the climate and terrain, plant life was thriving in areas that was considered to be inhospitable for plants to even begin growing, I decided to acquire some samples of the local plant life for further studies later on. By around the mid-day of this world we had reached the valley in which the Ice Salamon tribe of Assassins calls home, as we got closer to the village I could begin to see that it was not a small village that could be moved easily as I had first anticipated, but a large thriving village that borders on the edge of being considered a city. I saw a single figure walking from the village, as we got close enough to see the village's towering buildings, and Elder lead me over to meet the Ice Salamon who I could tell from a distance was a male of about nine feet tall and wearing armor that looked to have been made from ice of a deep blue coloring. Elder introduced the male as the leader of the tribe named Swift, I could tell that, even though Swift was the leader of an entire tribe of assassins, he was a charismatic leader that was more than welcoming to new visitors into his tribe. Elder would later tell me that while the tribe is highly known for their skills as assassins throughout the other tribes of Ice Salamons, they are more like peacekeepers between the tribes to prevent any unnecessary bloodshed from happening, even the tribe of brutish Ice Salamons known as Mountain Ice Salamons respect Swift's leadership in maintaining peaceful times between all the tribes. By the evening sun I was allowed to explore the village and see what it had within its walls, to my surprise the village was alive with friendly people and children running about playing games that were somewhat similar to games back home, one child was even curious about what I was doing and watched me as I studied my surroundings. The child was a friendly little girl who was rather fond of the sketches of the Ice Salamons I was doing and showed me some of the villagers were artists too. Once I had returned to my room inside the village's largest building that (from what I was told) was the village's main hall for defence. I shall be spending several days in this village to study the local people, but just from my observations today, I could already tell that these assassins are more than just killers, they're caring people who look out for the smaller tribes and makes sure those tribes are able to survive.
