I feel, not even in spite of, but because of, the simple artistic style you chose to use it actually gives more depth and meaning to what you are trying to convey, and actually gives it a better emotion to the page, particularly with the rougher and choppier lines then is typical to your style, and the lack of colors, it shows the right amount of emotion.
Seems Gem was seeing Nicole's memories. Now she has two stories one full of lies (her dad Jack's story) and now one with the truth (Nicole's story)
It'll be interesting what adult Gem decides to do once she wakes up, or will there be one more memory from Nicole to help Gem? We can only speculate and see

I've been away for awhile and am just now catching up again... this page struck right to the heart.
