So if you're observant, you will notice that the signature is actually dated April, 2003... that's when I did the bulk of the work on this (let's say 80%), but it never got finished before ending up in a box, where I quickly forgot it existed.
Well, I found it today, did that last 20% worth of touching up, and now six years later it's finished! XD Don't you love it when that happens?
Approx. 8x10. Ink/marker/colored pencil on bristol board.
(Also: for those who don't get it, snakes don't have ears; they 'hear' by sensing vibrations in their bodies. Yes, I'm a nerd. :B)

Every once in a while, I come across a drawing that is both briliantly exicuted, and clever as heck. Congratulations, this is one of them. There are few, genine snake morphs out there, and to couple it with such a unique take on the fact that snakes can't hear, this is has fave written all over it. It helps that I've always had a fondness for green snakes.
I've owned several snakes, and thought about trying to keep an emerald boa when I discovered a pet store that carried them. Decided against, though; I learned a lot about them and apparently they're a bitch to feed! (Heat pits = food's gotta be near body warmth or they don't even notice it, for one.)
So I drew one instead. :D

This is pretty freaking sweet. I totally get this, haha. My friend
draklerahl kind of has a similar concept with his character, and is even the same species!

For some reason, seeing him as one of the interviewees on The Shape Of Things That Hum
I learned you're the person behind the I <3 Critique. Man, you've got alot of great stuff in your gallery, and it's tough to point out glaring issues. Even the compositions are sound.
to be nit-picky, one of the receding snake coils touch evenly with the top of one of the closer ones. In the end though, no amount of technical perfection can ever replace soul and appeal.
