A friend of mine loves gender bending characters - especially the Resident Evil characters. She's actually got a whole club for it over on DA: http://re-genderswap.deviantart.com/ So she had me gender bending the RE cast for a while there.
I realized during the thick of it was that, when you bend some characters they tend of take on a bit of an identity of their own (or at the very least require some tweaks that make them more feminine/masculine than their original counterpart). But not these two. Not really. I could have drawn any of these four scenarios with either of them being male or female and it still didn't change the dynamic of their relationship. I'm genuinely crazy about the torrid love/hate, captain/subordinate, frenemy/arch rival, cat-and-mouse bond between them. And that is what I call a REAL character dynamic.
Of course, there are slight differences in their "relationship" situation, between all of the different iterations. Namely between the two hetero incarnations;
Where Wesker's male and Chris is female, I kind of imagine the prick to be more suave, sophisticated, and debonair about his pursuits - use his wit and tongue to get under the lady-Redfield's collar as only he knows how to do. On the flipside, where Wesker's female and Chris is male... I think this music video pretty much sums it up: https://youtu.be/6g6g2mvItp4?list=P.....2238538C0FD628
F/F and M/M pairings are supposed to be from the S.T.A.R.S. era, Fem!W/Male!C is taking place durring Code Veronica, and Male!W/Fem!C is Russia Level UC. Or more like from the UC manga. Whatever.
