takes me 15 to 30 minutes. There is a great artist named Moebius and there's a list of tips for artists, here's 2 of them:
1) When you draw, you must first cleanse yourself of deep feelings, like hate, happiness, ambition, etc.
(This one is specially difficult for me because I am a very anxious person and my emotions come out very easily, also I get distracted easily and concentrating can be hard but when I am calm and my thoughts collected I get to work much faster.)
2) Itβs very important to educate your hand. Make it achieve a level of high obedience so that it will be able to properly and fully express your ideas. But be very careful of trying to obtain too much perfection, as well as too much speed as an artist. Perfection and speed are dangerous β as are their opposites. When you produce drawings that are too quick or too loose, besides making mistakes, you run the risk of creating an entity without soul or spirit.
(We all share the same feeling, having an idea and it's just like a broken phone game between brain, hand and everything in between and the results well we know how it turns out, repetition fixes the phone as the shapes become clearer in your head and your hand knows better what to do due to muscle memory how to draw an arm, head or leg, the length and girth of the cylinder needed to create the shape is already in your head.
And here's the tips from Moebius I hope they help you as much as they helped me.
