Quarter Russian huh? Neat, most of what I know about the culture comes from research and a family friend who lives in Belarus. He used to date my step-mom it's funny because she mostly dates women and feminine men but this guy was way manly. (What's funnier is he probably isn't even considered terribly manly in his own country.)

russia is not as homogeneous as many people thing ... lots of people in lots of places have radically different beliefs ... but the generalities such as not extremely caring, not very politically correct and quick to fighting yet not really holding grudges is generally true in my experience X3

I actually designed Dmitri to break a lot of the typical Russian stereotypes. While he's a bit more conservative/ modest then other characters in "The Author Society" he's also notoriously compassionate and patient. He gets frustrated occasionally and swears in Russian but other wise he's generally pretty even tempered. He lives in a post WW3 society and grew up in what essentially equates to a Russian prison colony (of sorts it's complicated). He went through hell and high water to become a doctor, not for himself, but to help his friends, family, and neighbors. He often places other before himself and is a bit of a family man (taking care of his little brother Peter). On top of it all, the two big enemies in WW3 were the US and Russia so naturally even though the war ended years ago a lot of people are still bitter and Dmitri ends up stuck in America working for a bunch of rebels and vigilantes. He's generally very courteous and respectful but not all the people he works for return the courtesy.

At the end of the day he's an incredibly kind hearted person who is able to handle racial insults with surprising grace. I'd say he's greatest flaw would be not always standing up for himself when he should and giving more of himself than is really healthy. He's my favorite male lead in the series but sadly he won't be introduced till Issue 1 and I gotta get the prolog (Issue 0) out first. The kickstarter for issue zero will be up soon and the comic is mostly finished.
