Don't be fooled by the title, this guy is still kicking.
Malah, about 386 years ago, was considered a God. The leader of a small Vulpix tribe, he gained respect and worship from them simply by managing to live so long. However, despite his efforts, wars of more civilized neighboring tribes drove his Vulpixes to the point of extinction, leaving him and his pup the only survivors.
The two Ninetales settled in a village, where Malah used his ability to lay Curses to intimidate the villagers into servitude. There he remained, savoring his position of power until his daughter was nearly fourteen. From there, the two began hopping all over the reion, and then the globe, their presence only given away by missing livestock and a Pokemorph who could not remember where they'd been the night before.
Eventually the two went their separate ways, as parents and children are wont to do.
Malah about 110 years ago, made his way back to Orre and settled at the abandoned burial ground of one of his ancestors, cursing anyone who came too near the grounds. One day, to his horror, an archaeological team actually ventured inside the burial grounds, angering him into unleashing a traditional Ninetales curse, one that would last for centuries.
This event made him leery of his old home, and he once again hopped around the region for a few more years until he settled in Pyrite town, in a graveyard that had no historical significance. Missing his power, he began to disturb the spirits rested in the graveyard, amassing himself a veritable army of feral ghosts.
As for his daughter, Imvale...she worked her way to the Kanto region where she began giving history seminars in colleges. After one particular seminar, she met a Pachirisu named Monday Friday, and the rest, as we say, is history.
