A week ago, on 5th of March, my cat, not so creatively called Murzik, has passed away. He (and i won't call him "it" here, because i respect and love him) was living with me for almost 19 years, almost my whole life, and i got used to have him around, so now i don't even know how is it to be without a cat.
Just a month ago he was full of life, running around and such. But suddenly in his old age few harsh deceases started to progress, and in 2-3 week he withered away to a poor, sore condition right before my eyes... Unfortunately, there was no way to cure him, because of the number of different illnesses and due to his age. Eventually, he couldn't normally walk, eat, drink, even swallow, that's why we came to a painful, hard decision - to euthanize him just to ease his endless pain and suffering he was experiencing every day and night his last week...
Both, the desicion and the loss, were really, indescribably hard to go through, because our family loved this cat so much. And that's why there's a little delay in my artistic progress, i apologize for that.
I was never good at portraits, cats and fur, but i think this is not too bad for a little tribute to my favourite pet.
Rest in peace, buddy, thank you for being around all these years.

Omg... q.=.q
I'm so sorry for you.
I know what it's like to lose one of those "Almost as old as you are" pets...
I had a dog, Max, that lived to be about 18-19 as well, and he was my little buddy my whole life... He died a couple years ago, and he was the only dog we ever had that I liked. None of the other dogs are awesome like he was. He literally got so old that his entire muzzle was white (he was a black dog), and his feet too. It was kinda adorable but sad at the same time. :c
I hope maybe you can eventually find another cat that you like...

The decision to put a family member to sleep is one of the thoughest things to go through. (The cat I grew up with reached a similar age but she had the luck to die at home in the circle of our family. To this day I still feel bad for not being able to witness this moment due to work back at the time.)
If you love to have cats around you chances are the love you felt and still feel for Murzik willl be reborn into another cat at some point, but you will carry the memory of him for the rest of your life and charish them. :)
For me pets are part of the family and they are treated like another person, never like an 'it' - and all people I respect share this opinion in one way or another. The rest is ignored ;)
Hope you will come over the loss quickly!

I know the pain of having to do something like that. Me and my mom had to have our cat put down 4-5 years ago because she was getting old and her kidney's were failing. She was getting to the point to where she couldn't do anything, so while I was out of town one day, mom took her to a vet and euthanize her.
My sympathies for you Karu. That's quite a lifetime to have a beloved pet like him around. No doubt full of wonderful memories. This image is quite the endearing tribute to him.
Take the time you need, it's never a short term emotion when dealing with such grievances. We'll understand, and we're here

Hey, courage for this sad test... I know what is it, and I am sure that you know that you've doing the good decision! I have doing the same for my cat in 2014... after almost 8 years with she (was an abandoned cat of 10 years...) :'( But it's better like that, she don't suffers more.
Again, courage, we are all here.
Also, Murzik was a really nice name :)

Ironically, I too lost my cat at the beginning of this year, lived to be 18 years as well... (seems like 18 is the magic number)
but yea, I know exactly how you feel. the world kind of stopped for me for 2 days... I too had to euthanize my cat
at the time this video was shot, he was still alive, but as you can see, he was already too far gone https://www.facebook.com/carlo.dido.....0416306016325/
