Under the trees, things were so much darker and must've blocked out the sun a lot, for the grounds was moist and soggy between Matthew's toes. The darkness, cold, and isolation just helped him feel a sense of safety. Even if no one will save him if danger finds him, even if he could die out there.
"Matthew?" Lass said "What's the matter?" But he just walked the forest as if he were alone "Matthew, Come on, Lad, Talk to me. What has ye doon?" Then something occurred to her "Lad, I'm sorry... I know we cause problems, but we try to help you."
"How!" Matthew shouted "If you both really wanted to help, you and Brian would never take control of me!"
"We don't intend to." Brian said "It happens at random, and we try to role with it the best we can."
"Like making me take part in a study group?" Matthew shouted "Knowing that a killer constantly comes after us?"
"Everyone's far more powerful than us." Brian said "So if he does kill anyone near us it won't work. The fact that no one did die because of us since we got here is pure proof."
"I'd rather not take any risk," Matthew said "It's okay if it's us in danger, but when we're why The First kills someone, I can't live with-..."
"Mathew?" Lass asked "Lad?"
Matthew's eyes were set by the trees up ahead. It was there, staring back with its dead eyes, The First then started walking his way. Instantly he ran to his left. He ran swerving to try and lose the killer, but then there was the killer stepping out from behind the tree Matthew was running to. He trued to turn but he felt a minor strike to his shoulder. He still ran with the hit, but as he looked he around the world turned. Trees seeped blood and dripped more off the branches, the very grass started to have a disturbing feel. Matthew slipped out in while trying to make a turn and he fell into the blood and grass. Then, before he could get up, someone grabbed his shoulder for a moment.
"Get up!" Brian shouted "Hurry, before he gets here!"
Matthew didn't budge though
"Lad, Run!" Lass shouted "He's gonna get us!"
Matthew didn't respond to them though, he just stood up and looked around.
"Lad? Matthew?"
Matthew didn't respond though. He just started walking about the forest.
"Lass, That's not Matthew." Brian said "It's him."
