This is a lineup of my own personal species, Grey's, named after another character who happened to become the god of them.

Their world is generally composed of four eras in a constantly looping timeline. One sunny and untamed, the other dark with the underground revealed to them, the third a tide of the dead and the last a simple grey wasteland covered in smog.

Each of these eras are fairly unique, though the influence of the last age happens to carry over in terms of technology and evolution, when the world begins again.

The middle is the first Grey's species: Simple and all-purpose.
The right are the second generation: Better suited for combat, communication and other functions.
The left are the third generation; Completely militarized, combat savvy.

I'm unsure if there will be a fourth generation, as technology has not yet passed.

The white symbols before their faces are called 'Overlays', physical manifestations of the natural magic floating about the world. In lesser cases it may simply be the technology that has mixed in with the species.

These serve information/utility purposes, but in some cases can become physical manifestations for defense and weaponry.
