A view over a landscape in Cumbria, as a late winter day draws to a close. Where the industrial towns of Northern England end, and the distinction between English highland and Scottish lowland become ever more vague.
This was taken on my recent trip to Edinburgh for the ScotMUN conference, from the window of a high-speed train, from a phone on very low battery. It had been my first time going to Scotland by rail, let alone to the capital, Edinburgh, and the ride took a rather interesting route - through Birmingham and the West Midlands, and then up through Glasgow, and east into Edinburgh, in a semi-circle. Took about 5 hours in all, which was nowhere near as fast as I expected it to be, and all things considered, was a fairly comfortable journey.
Hope you enjoy!
