Oi! Don't be rude, people have the right to make OCs how they want. Just because it just happens to, for the most part, be a copy, or VERY SIMILAR to a copy of an already existing character...with some modifications...doesn't give you the right to to bash on them. Just look at me, when I started out, I used to be an Eevee with cyan, blue, and white fur. I'm not now, but I still can be at will via my character's magic.
I get that, honestly.
However, for the record at least, Eris' entire backstory was about her being basically a female copy of Discord. She came from an old RP I was in literally because I couldn't actually use Discord, so I came up with the idea of someone in-universe creating their own Draconequus for their own needs using stuff taken from Discord, which is why the result looks like him. And then Eris was born, and I just kinda kept using the character afterwards because I enjoyed playing with her and I liked the backstory I created for her.
It's fine if you still don't like it, physically she is basically just a younger female Discord and is clearly a copy, but I felt a brief explanation was in order at least.

Plenty of people use Pokemon OCs and they are really cool! My friend's character Eris is very well thought out with a lot of effort put into her :c And, by the way, Draconequus is not an MLP exclusive species. MLP didn't invent the Draconequus, Discord wasn't the first. So it's entirely possible to make one outside of that character. Even if this particular one was based off Discord, it is an unfair assumption to make ^^;
I didn't say it was an MLP exclusive, i said, mythical beast, much like a Minotaur or Hydra, it's an original creation from someone in the past which is why, already being an original creation, its just a copy to use such a creature, like pokemon who are each an original creation, based on actual animals... (Or objects as the generations go on)
To take something thats already made up and then claim as your own takes out the O in OC.
Now if you take whatever real animal, colour it whatever, add some wings/horns/other appendages to it to really make it original, sure not everyone will like it, but atleast its an actual OC.

Sooooo... Everyone should make up their own animal to be? o.o If we're all going to be truly original. I don't see anything wrong with people just using a species and making a character out of it. It can still be original, have its own personality, backstory, etc. People put a lot of work and thought into these characters, and it's wrong to judge them based solely on their appearance or species :c Like, you have a fox character right? Some people would argue that fox is a very common character, but I'm sure you've put a lot of time and effort into making your character unique and special ^^ Your character may not be an original species, but it's still an original character! :D
