A floaty drawing I free handed without sketching first (well, a few pencil here and there). That is my terrible excuse for the very bad anatomy. :(

Yeah. Its basically what I am. The ladybug thing is me. The dog thing is everyone else. I am somewhat "socially impaired" because of childhood trauma. The dog represent the people who want and try to be social with me and the ladybug thing represents me, crying because I feel like something is keeping me from being social (hence the no arms).
My job kinda helped me come out of my shell but I still feel my heart race when people approach me.

Oh yeah, that... I am sorry I haven't spoken to you or anyone in my Aim list for a while. I hope you aren't thinking I am avoiding you or anything. I just can't bring myself to log on anymore because I am nervous about talking to people, even online. Half the time I am on AIM and am somewhat under the influence so I am not as nervous as I am sober. I am planning to go to Anthrocon this year. Mainly to try to teach myself to be be more social.
Anatomy can be learned over time (and must be learned, as it will turn out to be one of the most valuable tools you'll have as an artist).
But as I see it, expressiveness matters, too. As with anatomy, expressiveness comes from observation and study... but it also comes from you, from your personality, your character, your experience of life.
In this drawing, the arms just do not work... but that dog's expression does. It works very well, indeed.
