Flipped through both a few times. I'd have to say I like this one much better. His muzzle looks a lot better, the other one kinda looked deformed after seeing this attempt. ^^;

Do you use layers? If so making the lineart layer transparent except the lines and doing the coloring underneath will stop the small lines of no color between the color and the lines themselves. Or you could just do coloring over the lineart by setting the layer for colors to "multiply" instead of "normal"
I should ask if you use photoshop before all that. If you do use photoshop I can possibly explain things more clearly for you so you can get that color right up to the lineart.

The nost on this version looks better for sure.

Oh as does the shape of the head. Though both versions make the species look different as well. The first one he looks more like one of those pug nosed breeds and in this one looks more rot/lab like.

he does look pug-ish in the first, although hes supose to be a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog.

I had no idea what that breed of dog looked like so I checked it out. They're beautiful! This version is for sure closer to the right muzzle type. <3

yup i use photoshop, ive never though of making the lines invisible. but i didnt use layers on this one. Ill keep that in mind though.
