This is a piece dedicated to a different time. There were no cell phone ball-and-chains weighing us down, computers had the ubiquitous 56k modem, and mostly we'd all just hang out for fun. This was a common activity for me back then as well; meeting friends after school and having the best of times.
This is also a piece dedicated to friends whom I've long since lost track of. Sometimes they do resurface in the present, but most of them have moved on to greener pastures and wherever their whims and desires may carry them. Someday, perhaps, we'll all be able to reconnect; but for now the halcyon of that bygone era is all that remains.

Indeed, but on a lighter note I've gained a lot since: New job, income, new friends, and a number of other things that I frankly didn't have then or think were even possible at the time. I do look back in melancholy sometimes, but the realization of what I've gained in the years following helps bring me back to the here and now more often than not.
