A 'quick' experiment with a jointed doll from Japan. Added bits like the higher chest, thicker thighs/hips, and of course the obvious tail and head. Believe it or not, the original doll came with um...bits molded on, but they weren't sized right so I just sort of covered it all over.
Coincidentally happened to find clothes that fit this size of doll (one set even came with PANTIES, sheesh...and the US one at that)...so here he is, with maid costume and with street clothes.

Yeah, the back of the head on this one used to say Volks on it, before I covered all that over. I just got a two-part epoxy clay (it self-cures in several hours) so no baking required, and it's a pretty tough material. Then just sand, airbrush, spray sealant, and done. :D
I just used acrylics. Once the sealant goes on, it seems pretty sturdy (although of course don't like, dig your fingernails against it or something). The light spots are mostly cause I didn't take the time to dismantle the doll before painting the pieces; I just posed it, sprayed a layer, then posed it again in a different angle again once it was dry to spray it again. This one was a bit of a rush job.
Thiss is lovely! I am curious... is this one of these dollfie dolls from Japan? I got one and something went horribly wrong when I tried to color it.. I remoddeled the torso, and think of redoing the colors and stuff. SoI would like to ask, how you added the tail. And what colors did you use for painting it? I hope you don't mind me asking that... Anyway, absolutly great doll you did there! =D
It's sort of like that, but really tiny (like maybe about a foot tall). Rio's tail is a pipe cleaner, and I sort of stripped the fuzz out of the end of it so it had a short end of bare wire, and then made a little loop and glued it in the screw hole that was in the back of the 'hip' section.
For paint I just use what I have, which is acrylics. :)

Yes, those small ones.^^ I think I would have died if I'd screwed up a big dollfie doll. Oo Thank you for the tip with the pipe cleaner! I think I'll try that out.^^ Thank you very much! Hmm.. acrylics.. have you used any base coat? Or did it just work fine without a primer? Oo I have remodeled the torso, and that's the only part I dared to repaint.
