I decided to do another remake of a past sketch i made when i was first getting into pastels, its been what a lil more than a year now..wow...
this sketch is a remake of my very first post to FA entitled "Feral meh" http://www.furaffinity.net/view/934267/
while i think the remake of Froslights call ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/934482/ ) with Froslight retelling ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1401450/ ) came off a lil better, i still like how a lot of this particular sketch came out.
in time i hope to preform more detailed and finer art pieces.

thank you, ever since i found those brushes i've been able to try out different shadings and textures, i actually found out that one of the three actually pulls color out of an image where as the other two blend or fold, so now i can preform negative shadows better, example would be on the nose, inner eyes, upper ear, the mountains and parts of his fur. subtle details are So awesome <tail wags happily)
which means now i feel i bare the confidence to try taking on some promised gift sketches and fan arts i owe <smiles)

yeah but i still owe some fan art for your other comic Cheat, i know its no big deal but i really like your character concept Alanya, and i have this nice concept idea in my head for a artsy fan sketch that I've been itching to get out, but before i just didn't know exactly how to start or create it. so its more of a benefit and personal goal to myself, not that I'm not a fan of your work. nut you know we Taurus's are some stubborn bastages
Wow Veridian this one is amazing. I been watching you improve over weeks from the meets and I must say this one is by far my fav. The shading, the colors (course I am kinda partial to green :p ) the details and the fact that its a pretty snarling wolfie always helps as well. Your skills are indeed improving and I am having a great time watching.
i greatly appreciate such a welcoming critique, your quite the artist yourself so such words coming from such talent encourages me more so to strive for greater heights.
and green is my ultimate favorite color too, and i really wanted to come fairly close to realistic quality with subtle details, so i had to look at multiple ref photos, to figure out just where and what had to go here or there. What im most thankful for is that you noticed he is snarling, i kinda forced the look a bit with the heavy lines, but all in all i was able to blend them enough to keep them soft for the effect.
but like i said I've seen what you can do, the fact that i can impress a decent artist from time to time helps, so thank you once more.

<bows to you complements) thank you, i used multiple refs to figure out just what i wanted and how to achieve that which i saw in my mind the real challenge was fitting it all together, the teeth i am proud of, they look symmetrical while feeling offset and natural, my scanner pulled a lot of the original color away but it still comes off decent enough in my eyes, the fact a great artist such as yourself liked it, makes it worth the effort, so i can over look a lot of the flaws and annoyances i personally see.
difficult medium? girl I've seen what you can do with markers used in conjunction with colored pencils, now that is difficult. and with only talons mind you, i have at least four paws to work with <laughs)

not necessarily, it helps make the image look a lil more full if you ask me, at least that's what i see by my eye, in time i hope to blend my colors enough to get that realistic shadow feel that painters achieve, i think its possible since now it feels like i am painting, what with the new techniques I'm trying out
