Hey guy, 3rd one of the month, so let's get to it!
AVO Heritage Toro:
Wrapper: Ecuadoran Sungrown
Binder: Dominican Republic
Filler: Dominican Republic
Pre-Light/Construction:
From the feel to it, it was your average looking light bodied cigar. It looked strangely like a dark connecticut wrapperlike the American Blend from Alec Bradley, but just a lightly browned off sungrown. A bit rough on the feel but the construction was nice in presentation. Very visible seems and veins, but that's still not detracting me from it's appeal with the iconic band.
The Burn Part 1:
Cedary Spice came to mind when the first few puffs. I love a cedary spice. Couldn't place the spice notes. The draw was becoming a little looser from the pre-light. Seemed a little snug before lit. However there were few times where a cigar totally botched on me from a snug draw. The cedary spice were mainly the 2 front runners with no sign of a sweet note, until the near end with a light coffee note. Finally a sweet note. XD
The Burn Part 2:
The 2nd part coming into play the cedary notes along pepper changed a bit. The pepper become a little more low toned like a bit of black pepper with less of a kick. So in short, it calmed down a bit. The cedar became a little more floral of vibrance. The coffee stayed the same, I wasn't complaining either way. At this point I got me a cinnamon old fashion that Jess makes at the club. I needed it while drawing on my tablet. XD
The Burn Final:
The notes and flavors stay the same, but like any good aged and stored stick the near end gave off a bit of a roasty flavor which I love. Like finishing a roast beef dinner. The finish off was a victory for the floral cedar note with a cool final pff before the ashtray graveyard. :3
Verdict:
A nice calm smoke for any occasion. Depending on your price range in state taxes, it's still worth the price for a great smoke. might pick up a couple for the con coming up.
