I was inspired by a talented artist and good friend of mine to do a pet portrait. This is Baldr, my Ragdoll mix baby I adopted from Cathouse on the Kings, a local organization that is all about taking care of animals. He's about 3 years old and watches me from his cat tree to the right of my desk. I adore this cat and he is my faithful familiar, following me all around the house.
I painted this from a picture and it was good practice for me. I miss getting angles and proportions right when I draw from life (in this case from a photo). It's hard to get his muzzle right without making him look like a Maine Coon.
