ZAHIR
Zahir Keen is an old rp character I had in a universe where both humans and "hybrids" existed. Hybrids were animals who could transform into humans, and were often kept as slaves to the humans with the use of special collars.
A particularly popular use for the hybrids were fighting rings.
There was a small resistance group who went to the fighting rings to free the hybrid fighters, lead by a former fighter white wolf hybrid. This rp was long ago so I don't remember many details so let's just call this white wolf Trinity (pretty sure that wasn't her name though).
Trinity found Zahir when she first managed to free herself. She had run from the fighting ring and was trying to find her way through the wilderness to a suitable hideout and HQ to begin her resistance. On the way, she passed by a traveling circus of oddities. One of those oddities was a Maned Wolf hybrid, Zahir. Zahir was kept in a cage far too small for him and fed scraps to survive. He was never allowed to use shift to his human form.
Trinity freed him and they ran away together to help start the resistance, picking up a few other hybrids along the way. She eventually found a cave and with the help of other hybrids, began digging a huge array of tunnels and underground dens to breed wild hybrids.
As soon as he was able, Zahir changed into his human form and never changed to his maned wolf form ever again. He had a fear of his beast form and so for 10 years under Trinity, he never shifted back again. His primary job within the resistance was as a scribe. He took down history, profiles of all members, and tracked births. Rarely, he would o on missions with the others if they needed someone who could pass as 100% human.
Zahir is very secretive of his past and of his maned wolf form. Outside the founding members of the resistance, none know what his beast form even is or why he avoids it. Secretly, Zahir wishes he were human and one of the few reasons he sticks with the resistance is because he's not sure he could ever pass as fully human all the time.
AO
Ao is a maned wolf who was originally intended to be my fursona. However, I really like the His Dark Materials trilogy so I think I will make a new version of Zahir.
In that universe, Zahir is an explorer. His daemon is a maned wolf named Ao, who is the same sex as he is. Their purpose is to travel the world and write their own encyclopedia, hoping to record much of the nuances of cultures, magics, and daemons around the globe.
